The Director will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and prospects for bequests, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder and lead trusts, life insurance, real estate, retirement plan, and blended major and principal/planned gifts. The Director will collaborate with SD to manage the John Revere Society, ensuring effective recognition and retention of identified planned gift donors.

Job Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with SD to educate NYU Langone staff and external constituencies regarding the benefits of making planned gifts.

* Maintain a robust portfolio of planned gift prospects and donors.

* Personally, or in collaboration with Development colleagues, physicians, alumni or other volunteers, solicit individual donors locally and across the country.

Collaborate with the SD and others to enhance, monitor and maintain the planned giving website to successfully engage donors and encourage online legacy gifts.

* Work with the planned giving team and other colleagues to design and implement stewardship programs to ensure legacy donors are effectively engaged with NYU Langone and its affiliates. Coordinate with SD and Donor Experience and Stewardship teams in developing and distributing communications and planning and executing events that grow the John Revere Society. Develop metrics to monitor effectiveness of these efforts, making adjustments, as needed.

* Attend Revere Society events, development events and galas, including alumni reunion weekend in New York and alumni brunches and events, as needed, across the country, to develop leads for planned gifts and to steward donors.

* Monitor tax trends and design marketing programs and materials to take advantage of opportunities created by new tax legislation and best practices in the field.

* Document portfolio activity to include planned gift cultivation, solicitations and stewardship in the donor/prospect database.
