Job Description:

1. Space planning and design: development of space planning programs and functional space programs for capital and non-capital projects.

  • Prepares space layouts and writes specifications for various non capital projects for construction, equipment, and furniture needs

2. Coordinate necessary repairs or purchases on furniture and equipment with vendors as needed.

  • Design standards: Establishes and maintains departmental procedures in order to help appropriately assess needs for new or repair and/or replacement of existing furniture.
  • Projects: works with end users and furniture vendors to design Ergonomic, aesthetically considered, and comfortable spaces to improve the patient and caregiving experience and make the environment a more positive place

3. Capital Planning & Master planning

  • Participates in developing capital project scopes and estimates

4. Work with multiple outside resources for the procurement of items needed to improve the facility.

5. Submit quotes into PeopleSoft Finance to purchase both asset and non-asset equipment.

6. Signage and Wayfinding

  • Works with Facility Planning staff, users department, and sign vendors to design and install signage and wayfinding for projects and everyday facility needs.
  • Maintains code compliant signage

7. Contributes to the overall success of the department by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Executive Director of Facilities Management

8. Work closely with facility trades to access and close work orders submitted in Maintenance Connection

9. Coordinate construction projects with both QHC trades & outside vendors

10. Provide data for the planning and control of project development

11. Ability to update CAD files for life safety and construction renovation drawings

12. Ensure compliance with local AHJ s (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) including DOB, FDNY & Building inspectors

13 Handle additional duties assigned by AED of Facilities and Director of Planning

14. Queens Facility Planning Office Standards

15. Develops and maintains design standards and quality expectations for campus construction projects and communicates them to consultants, contractors, and others

Minimum Qualifications

1. A Master s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Science, Hospital Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Administrative Medicine in Public Health or approved related field; and seven (7)* or five (5)** years of planning, design and program development experience pertaining to the operation of a major segment or all of a hospital or health care setting including substantial exposure in meeting community health needs, health care planning, design and program implementation, independent analysis review and study of health care setting operations and functions with at least three years of responsible level administrative experience coordinating the analysis of health care planning, design, development and public policy programs or approved related programs, including at least three (3) years of highly responsible administrative experience coordinating the analysis of health care planning, design development or public policy programs or approved related programs; or

2. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Hospital Administration, Social Sciences, Management, Health Care Administration or an approved related field; and Eight (8)* or six (6)** years of experience pertaining to the operation of a major segment or all of a hospital or health care setting including substantial exposure in meeting community health needs, health care planning, design and program implementation, independent analysis review and study of health care setting operations and functions with at least three years of responsible level administrative experience coordinating the analysis of health care planning, design, development and public policy programs or approved related programs; or

3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Work Shifts

8:00 A.M- 4:00 P.M
