POSITION OVERVIEW: The Director of Post-Secondary Readiness will play a pivotal role in guiding and enhancing students' academic and career pathways from secondary school to post-secondary opportunities. This leadership position will oversee the management of transcripts, credits, and course catalogues; direct career and technical education (CTE) programs; supervise post-secondary options counseling; monitor and report on secondary student achievement progress; and serve as a site supervisor for designated secondary schools. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, strategic planning, and a commitment to student success and educational equity. QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree in Education Administration, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in school administration; experience in overseeing post-secondary readiness programs is preferred.
  • Valid administrative credential as required by the state.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCES:
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and educational technology systems.
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with the Teaching and Learning Department, school personnel, students, parents, and community partners.
  • In-depth knowledge of academic standards, graduation requirements, and post-secondary opportunities.
PREFERRED:
  • Familiarity with state and national college and career readiness initiatives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Student Achievement and Progress Monitoring:
  • Develop and maintain systems for tracking and reporting on secondary student achievement and progress toward graduation, highlighting areas of success and opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with school leaders Teaching and Learning Department to design strategic plans for improvement and support in identified areas of growth.
  • Design and deliver professional development opportunities in alignment with department goals.
  • Site Supervision of Secondary Schools:
  • Serve as a site supervisor for selected secondary schools, providing leadership, support, and oversight for day-to-day academic operations.
  • Work with principals to implement strategic goals that align with district standards for academic excellence and student readiness.
  • Conduct regular school visits and participate in school leadership meetings to stay informed about school needs and progress.
  • Participate in Site Supervisor meetings to ensure continuity of expectations across the district.
  • Credit and Course Catalogue Oversight:
  • Manage course catalogues, ensuring alignment with district educational standards and post-secondary requirements.
  • Monitor course offerings to support student choice and academic pathways, including the new course approval processes. Facilitate access to honors, Advanced Placement (AP), Concurrent Enrollment, and other enrichment opportunities.
  • Transcripts and Academic Records Management:
  • Oversee the accurate maintenance and processing of student transcripts and academic records.
  • Develop and implement protocols to ensure compliance with state and federal educational regulations.
  • Coordinate with school counselors and registrars to manage academic data and facilitate efficient record-keeping.
  • Serve as liaison between school Principals and Post-Secondary Option Counselors
  • Direct the vision for the work of post-secondary options counselors to ensure students are informed and empowered to make decisions about their future education and career paths.
  • Support the development of workshops and informational sessions for students and families regarding college admissions, scholarships, financial aid, vocational training, and employment opportunities.
  • Implement data-driven strategies to assess student participation and success in post-secondary pathways.
  • Ensure ICAP requirements are being met across the district.
  • Oversee and grow Career and Technical Education (CTE) Programs:
  • Supervise the Director of CTE to enhance programs that prepare students for career opportunities and align with industry standards.
  • Work closely with local businesses, trade organizations, and higher education institutions to establish relevant partnerships and pathways.
  • Evaluate CTE program effectiveness and adjust strategies for continuous improvement.
