The Director of Process Improvement is responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements across the organization, driving institutional change to streamline processes, increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve business practices, consistent with WAS's mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities. This position will lead cross-functional projects to identify, analyze, and solve critical problems, redesign inefficient processes or practices, and establish or amend internal policies. Furthermore, this position will analyze and review data from implemented solutions to determine effectiveness, outstanding pain points, and review for continuous improvement to drive growth and competitive advantage. This role focuses on enhancing both the customer and employee experience.

Key Responsibilities:

* Review key business practices to identify policies, procedures, and processes that can be improved, simplified, and optimized and lead cross-functional teams to design and implement improvements decision making. Participates in the development of policies, procedures, and other documentation to support process improvements.

* Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of initiatives and report on progress and results to senior leadership.

* Conduct comprehensive assessments of internal and external (customer-facing) processes to identify areas of inefficiency, waste, and variability, and prioritize improvement opportunities based on potential impact, feasibility, level of effort, and overall impact on the business.

* Manages special projects to define, measure, and improve operational processes in line with business goals

* Identifies opportunities to utilize new technologies to advance performance.

Identify and manage risks associated with new or changed processes and ensure that appropriate controls are in place.

* Collaborate with senior management to prioritize process improvement initiatives and develop business cases to justify investments in new technologies or process improvements.

* Communicate regularly with stakeholders to ensure they are aware of process changes and provide training and support to facilitate successful adoption of new processes.

* Investigating shortfalls, issues, and complaints in current business processes.

Competencies Required:

* An eye for identifying weak points in processes and organizational structures.

* Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy with the ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures, and guidelines.

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with abilities in analyzing data patterns.

* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism while interacting with regulators, customers and internal team members.

* Ability to follow directions, apply proper policies, procedures and guidelines and make objective decisions based on analysis of data and patterns.

* Self-starter possessing the ability to work independently while supporting a team environment.

* A thorough understanding of the latest process enhancement strategies.

* Leadership and mentoring skills.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

* 5 years experience in process improvement, project management or a related field.

* 3 years experience in the merchant processing, banking or fintech industry

Formal Education & Certification:

* Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, or related field preferred.
