Director of Procurement, Central OfficeThe Department is the single agency for all pre-trial detained and adjudicated/committed youth. DYS serves young people as young as 12, but most are 15-21 years of age. Approximately half of the committed population are served in DYS residential programs, and the other half served in the community.
The Director of Procurement is responsible for managing the daily operations of the agency's procurement of goods and services for clients resulting in more than 100 contracts and totaling $100 million in purchase of service (POS) contracts and other non-POS contracts for goods and services annually.
This position is responsible for coordination of all phases including the needs identification, development of the RFP/RFQ, and scheduling, oversight, and management. In addition, this position is responsible for coordination with all oversight agencies regarding procurement processes, policies, rules, and regulations. The Director of Procurement must be accountable for assuring that all phases of the procuring services and goods conform to all applicable laws, rules, and regulations of the state and federal governments.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have at least (A) six (6) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management of which (B) at least two (2) years must have been in a project management, supervisory or managerial capacity or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.
