POSITION OVERVIEWThe Director of Procurement is responsible for managing key vendor relationships while identifying cost saving opportunities. This position is responsible for the planning, direction, coordination, and tracking of the purchasing efforts for the company. As a Director of Procurement your roles and responsibilities will include:
- Researching key suppliers.
- Monitor product quality.
- Negotiating purchase agreements to ensure all products meet company standards
- Oversee the procurement process, including requisition, sourcing, purchasing, and delivery
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise.
- Collaborate with facilities to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
- Stay abreast of market trends, economic factors, and regulatory changes that may impact procurement.
- Maintain relationships with vendors,
- Conduct business review meetings on a recurring basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONSMost importantly, you need to be a passionate Director of Procurement who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Director of Procurement would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
- B.S. Degree preferred.
- High School diploma required.
- 2 years of experience in healthcare setting, Long-term care preferred
- 2 years in purchasing or procurement.
