Director of Procurement
The Director of Procurement will provide leadership for strategic sourcing, category management, and operational purchasing activities for the enterprise as part of the Procurement Services team.
The Director reports to the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) and will play a critical role in transforming Procurement activities, from source to contract to procure to pay, across the enterprise. By providing direct and indirect leadership in a matrixed and distributed organization, she/he will ensure fulfillment of goods and services that meet the requirements of all stakeholders. Through creative solutions and sustained engagement with the business, she/he will be pivotal in bringing accountability to the procurement services group, as well as connecting the services to the resulting value as it matters to all stakeholders.
The Director will develop and manage procurement processes and procedures, with a focus on their ability to enhance organizational value and efficiency. She/he will meet regularly with Operations units and corporate functions to obtain insights which can drive improvements in Procurement Services. She/he will develop and implement a hybrid approach to procurement with certain functions centralized and others supported through a center-led approach to procurement which adds value and efficiency to the organization. The Director may function as an Enterprise level single point of contact for Procurement as it pertains to the value proposition of strategic procurement.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Category Planning and Management
+ Direct category planning and sourcing execution for all categories, with an emphasis on indirect goods and services related categories, seeking strategies to deliver cost-efficiencies, operational safety, contractual compliance, and overall operating profitability.
+ Engage Executive level leadership to garner support for strategic planning initiatives, gather feedback on needs, wants, and issue resolution, and build rapport for future stakeholder management.
+ Support the Supplier Engagement Leader with building and maintaining strategic supplier relationships.
+ Oversee sourcing and procurement activities that support priorities and key business objectives.
+ Work with the analytics team to derive enterprise level demands to support strategic planning needs across all categories.
Purchasing
+ Ensure the execution of procurement strategies across the firm to ensure consistent and high-quality value delivery.
+ Establish top-level stakeholder guidelines and implement a customer-focused approach to requirements gathering within the sourcing process.
+ With the analytics team, support the development of market intelligence resources, ensuring that the department accounts for non-recurring and recurring costs.
+ Support adoption of enterprise-wide P2P systems (Coupa) to maximize spend visibility
+ Support rigorous and objective contract negotiations with key internal stakeholders, legal department, and support groups.
Strategic Supplier Management
+ Participate in business review meetings with key suppliers to establish the proper strategic mindset and communicate the authority amongst the procurement team members.
+ Address strategic supplier (and/or contract) risks escalated for resolution, inclusive of Executive team engagement for support or direction.
+ Provide direction and support, up to & including direct communication, when a strategic supplier's relationship structure with the business will be substantially changed.
People Management & Other
+ Establish procurement goals & objectives aligned with Enterprise-wide business objectives.
+ Define and direct implementation and improvements to purchasing policies, processes, and procedures.
+ Develop direct reports by supporting the alignment of personal and professional aspirations and by providing direction from overall business goals and objectives.
+ Encourage proper communication amongst team members and prepare & support upward communication of project achievements
+ Develop and execute a long-term strategies for improving the department's personnel and tools
+ Operate procurement functions within the budget constraints.
+ Lead engagements with external consulting partners
**EDUCATIONAL and PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Bachelor's required, with Masters desired, in Business, Supply Chain or Finance.
+ CPSM, CSCP, or other industry certifications preferred
+ Excellent interpersonal skills, partner-centric and highly comfortable navigating through a wide range of situations in a fast-paced environment; Executive presence and communication capabilities.
+ Proven record of driving cost savings throughout an organization and experience with progressive sourcing tools, such as cost structures, supplier business plans, electronic auctions, multi-year cost savings agreements, etc.
+ Demonstrated experience leading management and supervisory staff.
+ Ability to exercise independent judgment, effectively prioritize and execute time sensitive tasks.
+ Demonstrated ability to collaborate & team with cross functional & business unit leaders.
+ A bias for action - leading personal and group's accountability to outcomes.

+ Experience working with and managing substantial category spend
+ Experience managing supplier and customer relationships and the competitive bidding process.
