Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated Director to lead our product management team. In this role, you will drive the product strategy, development, and execution of Aireon's commercial data services offerings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product management, a deep understanding of the aviation and aerospace industries, and a proven track record of delivering market-leading products and services.

In this role, you will lead our team in delivering customer-centric data-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service products, focusing on solving our customer's most difficult problems. You will support and partner with customers across the aerospace industry to identify unique, creative ways to leverage Aireon's Space-based ADS-B data to achieve data-driven results. We seek an individual with a strong track record of delivering successful products, a customer-first focus, an understanding of both the Aviation and Data markets and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent product management skills, and a deep understanding of bringing innovative products to the market.

What You'll Do

    Develop and drive the product strategy for Aireon's commercial services, aligning with company goals and market needs. Create and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap prioritizing initiatives based on business impact, customer feedback, and market trends.
  • Oversee the end-to-end product delivery process, from ideation to launch. Ensure products are delivered on time, within scope, and exceed customer expectations.
  • Lead a high-performing team of product managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the product development and engineering teams to ensure alignment on product, customer, and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies and sales campaigns.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for product success, including revenue growth, customer adoption, and market engagement.
  • Engage with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders to gather insights and understand market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscape. Use this data to inform product development and positioning.
  • Identify new market opportunities and drive innovation within the product portfolio. Develop strategies for expanding Aireon's commercial services into new segments

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, with at least five years in a leadership role within the aviation, aerospace, or technology industries.
  • Strong understanding of air traffic management, surveillance technologies, and commercial aviation markets.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling products in a B2B environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically while managing the tactical execution of complex projects.

Desired Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing and leading multi-faceted teams.
  • Experience with agile product development methodologies and product management tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of the aviation data market, including ANSP, Airline, Airport, OEMs, and System Integrators.

  • Begin engaging with current and future customers on product journey
