POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Production Operation in Innovative Arts will oversee and manage the creative and educational spaces within Lowry Studios and the Fine Arts Building on the CentreTech Campus. This includes specialized spaces such as Studio 121 soundstage, the Screening Room, the Larry D. Carter Theater, the Theater Shop, and IA classrooms, including ART, MUS, and MGD spaces. The role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of these spaces, including equipment and gear management, team supervision, coordination with outside vendors, and collaboration with various stakeholders to facilitate events, student productions, and creative projects within the Innovative Arts specialty spaces. Additionally, this role will supervise the Equipment Room Cage and its Manager to ensure proper handling and distribution of production equipment. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Facilities and Space Management: Lowry Studios & CTE Fine Arts Building (IA Spaces) Oversee Multiple Spaces: Manage the day-to-day operations of Studio 121, the Screening Room, the Larry D. Carter Theater, the Theater Shop, and specialized storage/classrooms. Maintenance, Repair, and Inventory: Schedule and oversee regular maintenance, repair, and inventory of all specialized spaces, furniture, and equipment. Storage Solutions: Develop and manage effective storage systems for equipment and materials. Building Systems and Procedures: Create systems for operational hours and act as a liaison with security and maintenance teams for facilities-related needs. Liaison with CCA Facilities & Leadership: Serve as the primary contact between Lowry Studios, the Fine Arts Building, and CCA Facilities and leadership teams to ensure seamless communication and efficient operation of specialized spaces. Coordinate Space Usage: Ensure that specialized spaces at both locations are effectively utilized, scheduled, and maintained for classes, events, and productions. Leadership and Team Management Manage Work Study Teams: Supervise work study students, assigning tasks related to specialized space maintenance and event support. Hiring Crew/Contractors: Hire and coordinate external contractors or specialized event crews as needed for various productions and events. External & Internal Department Stakeholders: Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders for the management of specialized space-related operations. IA Specialized Space Event Management and Coordination Support and Scheduling of Events: Manage the scheduling and logistics of events, ensuring all technical, specialized space, and staffing requirements are met. IA Specialized Space Running Crews: Oversee event crews, assigning responsibilities and ensuring all technical aspects in specialized spaces are handled properly. Technology and AV Oversight: Ensure that all technical (audio-visual, lighting, etc.) needs are addressed for events and productions in specialized spaces. Creative Project Facilitation: Support and facilitate creative projects by ensuring that specialized spaces are properly set up and resourced. Event Paperwork and Policies: Ensure that event paperwork and policies are in alignment with the college's systems and procedures, maintaining compliance and effective coordination across departments. Production Management and Technical Direction: Provide production management and technical direction as needed for events, ensuring high-quality execution in specialized spaces. Policy and Procedure Development Develop Policies for Space Use: Create, implement, and enforce policies regarding the usage of specialized spaces. Procedure Assessment for Spaces: Continuously assess and improve procedures to maintain an efficient operation of specialized spaces. Work with Leadership on Equipment Purchase Recommendations: Collaborate with senior leadership to make strategic equipment purchases. Guidance for Emerging and Cinematic Arts APSS: Provide oversight and protocol guidance for Emerging and Cinematic Arts programs in specialized spaces. Budgeting and Financial Oversight Inventory, Planning, and Budgeting: Manage the budgeting process for specialized spaces, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and maintaining an updated inventory of specialized equipment and furniture. Strategy and Planning Process Development: Create and refine systems to ensure the efficient use of specialized spaces and resources. Long-term Space Planning: Collaborate with leadership to develop strategies for the long-term use and improvement of IA specialized spaces. Student Production Management Safety and Compliance: Collaborate with the Cinematic Arts Safety Supervisor to implement safety protocols and reinforce department policies, ensuring compliance with industry safety standards across all production activities, including stunts, special effects, weapons use, intimacy scenes, and mental health concerns. Logistics and Resource Management: Oversee production scheduling, ensuring all activities are planned, cleared, and compliant with space and personnel, permits, and insurance requirements. Address production needs, including equipment and staffing, and room bookings. Equipment Room Interface: Act as the main conduit between instruction and the equipment room, ensuring that students and instructors have access to the necessary equipment and support for productions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in an Arts Industry Related Field PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree in an Arts Industry Related Field Experience Designing and Managing Creative Educational Spaces/Technology Creative and/or Educational Team Management SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Salary Range: Anticipated starting salary range: $65,955.00-$72,550.00 annually. This salary is determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information. CCA offers an excellent benefit plan, including generous leave, holiday, and education benefits. Full time employees immediately upon hire earn 15 hours a month annual leave and 10 hours a month sick leave.
