About the Company

The Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago (EFGC) is a not-for-profit organization serving 44 counties in Illinois since 1946. We offer education, advocacy, and case management to people living with epilepsy, their families, and the communities in which they live, all in the service of helping our constituents seize the narrative back from epilepsy. We are a 501(c)3 tax exempt charitable organization existing under the laws of the State of Illinois and operating as a local affiliate of the Epilepsy Foundation of America.

About the Role

POSITION REPORTS TO: VP of Member Services

POSITION SUPERVISES: Program Coordinators and may supervise students or volunteers, as appropriate.

Pay range and compensation package

SALARY RANGE: $85,000-110,000

Salary is based on qualifications, experience and skill sets of the individual.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the oversight and management of all internal and external programming and event planning for EFGC's member base throughout the year.
  • Oversee program and curriculum development, execution and evaluation of services focused on increasing member engagement within EFGC and within the epilepsy community.
  • Provide supervision and mentorship to program coordinators, ensuring the delivery of effective and evidence-based interventions.
  • Demonstrate excellent problem solving and negotiation skills while building strong and productive working relationships with local vendors and community agencies.
  • Collaborate, research and evaluate inclusive options related to camp offerings and assist in the negotiation and execution of all camp related planning and activities.
  • Collaborate with the development team when appropriate to assist in overseeing any grant opportunities to enhance program accessibility and effectiveness.
  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, utilizing data-driven approaches to assess program effectiveness, measure impact and identify areas for improvement.
  • Oversee program budgeting and financial management ensuring efficient utilization of resources and compliance with funding requirements.
  • Stay updated with current trends, research, and best practices in the field of recreation planning, incorporating this knowledge into program development, staff training and service delivery.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for organizational leadership and external stakeholders as needed, effectively communicating program outcomes, challenges, and recommendation.
  • Follow all EFGC policies & procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum of a BA/BS. Graduate degree preferred. Minimum 3 years previous leadership/supervisory experience and proven track record as a successful program director or manager. Must have strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills, as well as demonstrated knowledge and skills needed to work successfully with persons with disabilities. Some evening and/or weekend work required. Spanish speaking a plus.
