This renewable energy company is innovating within the data center industry by developing sustainable, high-capacity data centers powered entirely by renewable energy. Their flagship facilities integrate solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS) to meet the growing demand for data processing with a low carbon footprint. By merging cloud infrastructure with green energy, they enable industries to support rising energy and data requirements responsibly.

Role Overview:

The company seeks a Director of Project Development to lead and expand its portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will bring significant expertise in solar energy, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and data centers, along with proven experience in utility-scale project development. This role requires leadership in managing large-scale projects, including solar (200MW–400MW, projects), BESS (200MW projects), and data center (1,000MW–2,000MW projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years in project development within the renewable energy sector, specifically with utility-scale solar, BESS, and data centers.
  • ERCOT and PJM experience is a must
  • Proven experience with large-scale utility scale projects
  • Strong knowledge of the Texas regulatory environment, permitting, and interconnection processes.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams and managing external relationships.
  • Willingness to travel to Texas as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead the development of utility-scale solar, BESS, and data center projects from concept to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop strategies for scaling the project portfolio, focusing on sustainable and innovative solutions that align with the company's mission.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders, including internal team members, contractors, regulatory agencies, and community representatives.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Manage permitting, interconnection, and compliance processes in Texas, ensuring all projects adhere to relevant guidelines.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with a small, agile team to foster a collaborative and growth-oriented work culture.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular updates, performance metrics, and financial analyses to leadership to inform strategic decision-making.

Location: Remote (Travel to Texas required)
