Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARYResponsible for establishing and leading the Project Management Office (PMO) to deliver high-quality project management services and ensure successful project execution across the organization. This role involves developing and implementing PMO processes, policies, and best practices and managing the portfolio of projects to achieve strategic and business objectives. Directs project management staff and works with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop the project portfolio.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Develop and enforce PMO governance standards, policies, procedures, and dashboards.
  • Create, maintain, and enforce a project management framework, templates, and methodologies to ensure consistency and quality in project delivery.
  • Monitor portfolio of projects to ensure compliance with project methodologies and standards as well as keeping to schedules, budgets, and quality expectations.
  • Oversee project managers and business analysts to ensure work is coordinated and delivery of projects is on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards.
  • Coach team of project managers and business analysts and share knowledge and best practices.
  • Manage the prioritization, selection, and approval process for new projects, working with senior leadership to ensure selected project proposals have the highest potential value, impact, and strategic alignment.
  • Facilitate regular status meetings and presentations to senior leadership, reporting on the performance of the project portfolio, including project status, risks, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with teams outside of IT to prioritize and coordinate work.
  • Develop and manage the PMO budget.
  • Develop and employ strategies to bring alignment and partnership between finance, technology, and business stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and project management excellence.
  • Manage project deliverables and tasks as needed.
  • QUALIFICATIONSEducation:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field
  • Master's degree or MBA is preferred
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of eight years of project management experience preferred
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is desirable
  • Minimum of three years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent communication, including verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • High-level communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with project managers, business analysts, project teams, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Experience monitoring and evaluating projects and project portfolios
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools, including Smartsheet and Jira
  • Enthusiasm, positive energy, and ability to maintain grace and a sense of humor under pressure
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture and align projects with organizational goals
