About the role:The University of Washington Tacoma's (UWT) Psychological and Wellness Services (PAWS) provides high quality and timely mental health services and health promotion programming for UW Tacoma students. The Director leads a team of clinicians, health promotion specialists, doctoral level clinical and counseling psychology trainees, and student affairs professionals in developing and implementing a unit plan that meets the needs of UW Tacoma's diverse student population. Duties & ResponsibilitiesLeadership, Administration, and Management (55%): Serve as a member of the Student Affairs Leadership Team. Facilitate long-range and annual planning that aligns resources of PAWS with UW Tacoma's strategic goals. Direct the day-to-day operations of PAWS, including administrative functions, clinical services, and health promotion efforts. Supervise licensed psychologists, health promotion specialists, and doctoral level interns. Manage the PAWS budget and ensure compliance with policies. Lead the creation of, and monitor compliance with, policies and procedures for clinical services. Clinical Leadership (20%): Define and monitor expectations for clinical staff members. Consult with PAWS staff regarding student safety and confidentiality. Provide crisis, group, and couples counseling for enrolled students. Clinical Supervision and Training (10%): Provide clinical supervision for doctoral interns and advanced doctoral practicum students. Outreach and Education (10%): Provide consultation and training to university staff regarding student mental health. Collaborate to establish goals and strategies to improve students' mental health. Other (5%): Serve on relevant committees pertaining to the work of PAWS. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: Doctoral Degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA accredited program. Minimum of five years of professional clinical experience, including three years in college or university counseling centers. Five years or more experience supervising professional staff and trainees. Minimum three years administrative experience in a clinical setting. Commitment to serving a diverse population.
