They pride ourselves on creating state-of-the-art laboratory environments that support the ever-evolving scientific processes and technologies.The Director of Quality Assurance will coordinate and oversee the daily inspection responsibilities of the Quality Department, ensuring all processes, systems, and products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.This role is vital in maintaining compliance with UL, CE, CUL, and FDA certifications and fostering continuous improvement initiatives.
Compensation:Our client offers a competitive compensation package ranging from
$100,000 to $125,000, commensurate with your experience, education, certifications, and skill set. This reflects a strong commitment to attracting top-tier talent for this pivotal role.
Key Responsibilities:Quality Management:- Assign daily priorities and supervise inspection personnel.
- Oversee the calibration system and ensure timely completion of calibrations.
- Perform Incoming, First Piece, and Final Inspections on sheet metal components, cabinets, and fume hoods.
Compliance and Audits:- Maintain UL and FDA files.
- Act as the lead liaison during external inspection audits.
Process Improvement:- Drive operator inspection training programs.
- Lead the MRB (Material Review Board) process, including meetings, tracking trends, and ensuring proper disposition.
- Conduct corrective action meetings (e.g., 5 Whys) to identify root causes and implement permanent resolutions.
- Recommend and implement preventive measures to address potential issues proactively.
Safety Leadership:- Lead the safety committee, coordinate monthly meetings, and assist in employee safety training initiatives.
Vendor and Supplier Management:- Process and track RMAs on defective purchased products.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure corrective actions and replacements are completed.
Additional Responsibilities:- Recommend continuous improvements aimed at reducing waste and variation.
- Assist senior management with additional assignments as needed.
Qualifications:- Bachelor degree or higher preferred in a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing environment.
- 2-3 years of experience supervising Quality Assurance personnel.
- Familiarity with UL, CE, CUL, and FDA certifications is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Leadership and supervisory skills.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., standardized work, root cause analysis).
- Familiarity with calibration systems and quality management processes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to train and develop team members.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address potential issues proactively.
