Summary:
The Director of Quality develops and administers the organization's overall quality and reliability program. Oversees quality activities; including receiving inspection, supplier quality initiatives, process inspection, final inspection procedures and key policies are designed, coordinated and implemented.
Principal Accountabilities (Functional)
+ Carries out responsibilities in accordance with organizational policy and applicable State and Federal laws, including interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, directing work and appraising performance.
+ Interprets company policies to employees and enforces all safety regulations.
+ Assures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department; may include budget development and control.
+ Develops workforce planning and utilization programs to satisfy actual and projected requirements. Includes the scheduling of overtime and cost/effective use of temporary services.
+ Implements cross-training activities and plans for employees under his/her direction with specific attention toward the development of a highly flexible work force.
+ Establishes and implements team/individual Critical Success Factors, including the measurement and documentation of the progress of each employee toward the established goals.
+ Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists employees in solving work-related problems.
+ Performs other job-related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor's Degree in a related field: Master's Degree highly preferred.
+ 10+ years of increasingly responsible experience in a management function such as quality and operations.
+ Notable experience with Quality Management System oversight.
+ Broad experiential application of world-class improvement methodologies such as LSS, TQM.
+ Design for Reliability, and Precision Equipment Qualification.
+ Capital Equipment experience is a plus.
Responsibility for Quality Procedures or Direct Product Quality
+ Adheres to Universal Quality System policies and procedures and uses Total Cycle Time principles and standard problem solving tools to continuously improve work processes.
Physical Demands
+ May occasionally be required to access and manipulate various objects, tools, or controls.
+ Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to vibration.
+ Requires the ability to use a computer on a frequent basis.
+ Remaining stationary for extended periods, but needs to be mobile enough to navigate through work areas.
+ Position requires the ability to understand and interpret detailed documents and drawings.
+ Must be able to communicate clearly with fellow colleagues and in giving presentations
+ The ability to travel may occasionally be required.

Target Annual Base Pay: $120,000 - $150,000 + Robust Benefits
