Position Summary

The Director of Quality Control and Quality Assurance is responsible for the Quality Management and Quality Assurance Activities for the Commercial Unit, and maintaining and improving the Intercos Quality System. This position reports into the CEO and VP of Industrial Operations and is located in Congers, NY.

Essential Functions

  • Quality Functional leader for Commercial Unit
  • Assure that Intercos meets all regulations including GMP, GLP in accordance with FDA regulations and guidelines
  • Lead Quality staff with clear goals, objectives, and expectations.
  • Responsible for all staffing, salary, personnel reviews and development and succession planning
  • Develop long-term strategies and Goals for Quality
  • Liaison with Client as the Quality representative for Intercos Organization
  • Manage Client Complaint and Non-Compliance investigation and Corrective Actions
  • Support Product marketing to finalize the product customization by review and approval of specifications
  • Prepare Quality System and Organization to be always Audit Ready through Internal Audits
  • Manage audits from authorities, customers and certification organizations
  • Responsible for Commercial Unit Quality System Documentation
  • Assure that product in-process quality control meets all approved Intercos and Client requirements
  • Responsible for Budget planning, tracking and management
  • Quality reporting and KPI for internal and Client communication
  • Audits and Inspection results
  • Customer Complaints
  • Internal Non-Conformance
  • Staffing stability and performance
  • Manage Client quality requirements and expectations
  • Manage all testing requirements, including validations, and reporting (COA)
  • Manage Supplier and Contact Manufacturing Approval program for Commercial Unit

Job Qualifications

  • BS degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or comparable
  • 5 to 8 years management experience that includes budgeting and staff management
  • Experienced in Quality or Product Development (Cosmetics Industry preferable)
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems, including GMP and GLP in FDA regulated industry
  • Critical thinker and Problem Solver – Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyses information skilfully and develop alternative solutions
  • Good interpersonal skills and communicator
  • Able to Manage and develop staff
  • Team Player

  • Leadership
