Job Summary
Clayton State University is seeking a Director of Recruitment and Outreach. The Director will lead the offices of Recruitment (International Recruitment), Dual Enrollment, and Outreach efforts within enrollment management. The ideal candidate has a thorough understanding of enrollment management and recruitment best practices in higher education, particularly with first-year, adult, and graduate students. The candidate will also demonstrate a commitment to student success and play a role in implementing the University's Strategic Enrollment Plan, Recruitment, and Conversion initiatives. The Director reports to the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management.
Responsibilities
* Leads the planning, design, coordination, evaluation and implementation of the recruitment, outreach, and enrollment initiatives including: hospitality events (tours), preview day, recruitment fairs (internal and external), counselor workshops, engagement events, MOU signings, etc.
* Oversee daily operations of the enrollment office, including front desk staff, recruiters, student workers, etc.
* Establish professional relationships with key K-12 and technical system partnerships, non-profit organizations, corporate entities, military/government agencies, etc.
* Develop and implement a communication plan and calendar of recruitment activities, including but not limited to recruitment events, fairs, and other opportunities to generate student leads for recruitment counselors.
* Plans, schedules, and presents at information sessions specific to Clayton State programs at partnering organizations and events.
* Schedules and/or conduct visits in appropriate business, government, educational, non-profit entities.
* Oversee and Implement enrollment communication campaigns/strategies. Collaborate with central marketing and communications on the creation of large-scale marketing and communications strategies, presentations, signage, and materials.
* Experience implementing a strategic enrollment plan according to the University's mission, vision, values, and strategic plan.
* Expands the University's capacity to recruit outside of the traditional populations or territories.
* Adjust recruitment strategies as appropriate with a social mobility viewpoint to attract various student populations.
* Monitor and Calculate ROI for targeted outreach efforts.
* Review and execute Articulation Agreements/Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), manage.
* Provide professional development to the recruitment professional and paraprofessional team.
* Work alongside AVP and other staff to conduct data analysis of recruitment funnel reports and new student enrollment yield rates from partnerships and events as requested.
* This position cultivates strong relationships with divisions outside of EMSS (IT, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, etc.) as well as other units across the institution to promote and increase enrollment.
* Collaborate with IT on the creation and continued improvement of reporting capabilities and processes through the CRM system.
Required Qualifications
This individual must be able to multi-task, work in a constantly changing environment, and implement creative (outside of the box) enrollment and student success strategies.
* Bachelor's degree
* 5-7 years of recruitment and enrollment experience related to the duties and responsibilities listed above.
* Minimum 3 years of experience supervising and leading professional staff members.
* Must be proficient in Banner, Microsoft Office suite, and CRM Systems (Metabase, Axiom, Salesforce, TargetX, Twilio, etc.) and other enrollment technology.
* Experience with recruiting and retaining various populations.
* Demonstrated successful experience in developing, evaluating, and improving recruitment funnels and marketing strategies from a data-driven perspective.
* Experience successfully leading and managing multiple teams.
* Demonstrated successful experience in leading student service/enrollment teams in a higher education setting.
* Knowledgeable about compliance issues that may affect student matriculation for domestic and international student populations.
* Ability to analyze and interpret federal and state regulations related to student recruitment, admission, tuition residency, and other related processes.
* Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Demonstrated experience in working with students and families.
* Proficient technical skills in data management, data processing concepts, and student information systems.
* Proven track record as a role model in customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
* Masters degree from a regionally accredited institution.
* Thorough knowledge of the practices policies, and procedures.
* Bilingual (Spanish fluency) Experience working with students of low socioeconomic status.
* Experience implementing CRM systems and evaluating higher education enrollment or recruitment plans.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be knowledgeable of the populations that CSU serves, including but not limited to first-generation, adult and non-traditional, historically under-represented, etc., and have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
* Extensive knowledge of best practices, emerging issues, research, and policy questions regarding the college recruitment best practices (i.e., international policies and procedures).
* Experience developing and implementing recruitment and student success strategic enrollment plans.
* Experience increasing yield rates for populations such as first-year, dual enrollment, transfer, etc.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and administrators in a variety of units at CSU and with external constituents.
* Demonstrated experience leading or overseeing programming, strategic planning, and development, etc.
* Demonstrated experience investigating platforms for engaging underrepresented populations and able to adapt recruitment strategies based on the targeted populations.
* Prepare and present reports effectively, both orally and in writing.
* Demonstrated experience conducting data analyses needed to plan, promote, and evaluate enrollment initiatives.
* Ability to make sound data-informed decisions.
* Supervise professional and student staff.
* Monitor and report budget activity and provide creative and cost-effective recruitment strategies.
* Other duties as assigned.
