Position summary:

The Center for Healthy Relationships seeks to fill the Director of Relationships @Work position with a leader capable of merging business acumen with psychoeducation-informed practice. In support of the Executive Director of the CHR, the Director will assess, develop and deliver content concerning the need for building healthy relationships in the workplace.

The Center for Healthy Relationships (CHR) operates as an endowed center within John Brown University (JBU). The CHR provides practical resources that encourage and empower the growth of healthy, resilient relationships in personal, collegiate, and professional settings. A core value is the faithful integration of psychology and theology in the development of resources that are current, practical, and research-based. The CHR serves a diverse community, including JBU students, faculty, and staff, as well as churches, mental health clinicians, businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and the general population of Northwest Arkansas (NWA) and surrounding areas.

As the CHR grows over the next decade, our goal is to expand Relationships @Work by connecting with a diverse network of businesses and not-for-profit organizations to provide materials and training for enhancing healthy relationships in the workplace. The Director is an integral part of this goal in their capacity to expand networks, create market assessments, and develop strategic plans for revenue -generation. As a skilled educator, the Director will be developing and delivering engaging curricula within the human resources and business communities. This is a part-time position for 28 hours/week.

Role qualifications:

* Strong ability to create goodwill with staff, faculty, and students; servant attitude.

* Must be able to synthesize business and counselling practices in psychoeducational resources pertinent to the workplace

* Must be a team player and committed to collaboration

* Must have initiative to build a network of business contacts

* Commitment to the Articles of Faith, Mission, and Objectives of the University; and desires to be a role model for students by demonstrating an active Christian faith in personal example and in work related responsibilities.

Position responsibilities: Reporting to the Executive Director of CHR

Business Development

* Assess the current needs and trends in workplace relationships

* Develop networks and strategic connections among businesses, non-profit organizations, and the NWA community-at-large.

* In collaboration with the Executive Director, develop and implement a strategic plan for servicing these networks with resources for resilient, healthy relationships.

Content Development & Delivery

* Serve as a content expert by incorporating psycho-education principles with business best practices into resources for healthy relationships in the workplace.

* Supervise research-focused Graduate Fellows to ensure that resources developed by CHR are current and data-informed.

* Deliver resources through professional development seminars, workshops, and training.

Essential Skills and Experience:

* Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships, build community networks, and engage collaboratively with diverse viewpoints and/or populations.

* Demonstrated competency in designing, implementing, and disseminating original content on relational topics pertinent to the workplace.

* Education and experience in Business

* Education and experience in Counselling

* Connections in the business community of NWA

* A committed follower of Jesus Christ.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

* A master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Business, or another relevant field.

* 5 years of supervisory experience.

* Success in securing internal or external grant funding.

* Connections within businesses and not-for-profits in NWA.

Education:

* Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Counselling, or related field

Reporting to this position:

* May have grad counselling grad fellows, interns, work study employees reporting

Physical demands and work environment:

* Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk; stand; sit; use hands; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

* Work environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
