Premier Financial Institution in the Utica, NY area is seeking a Director of Investment Research to join their team. The Director of Investment Research will be responsible for developing and implementing research strategies and providing actionable insights to guide investment decisions. This role requires a deep understanding of financial markets, investment products, and research methodologies, along with strong strategic thinking skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement comprehensive research strategies that align with the company's investment objectives and goals.
- Ensure research methodologies and processes adhere to industry best practices and standards.
- Investment Analysis & Recommendations:
- Conduct analysis of financial markets, economic trends, and investment opportunities.
- Identify a diverse range of assets, spreading risk and optimizing the balance between potential returns and potential risk.
- Generate actionable investment recommendations and strategies based on thorough research and analysis.
- Present research findings and investment recommendations to senior management.
- Market & Industry Insights:
- Stay abreast of industry trends and market developments.
- Analyze and interpret data from various sources, including financial statements, market data, and economic indicators.
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry experts, analysts, and other key stakeholders.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate with portfolio managers, analysts, and vendors to integrate research insights into investment strategies.
- Communicate complex research findings in a clear and concise manner to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent the company in industry seminars, and meetings.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, CFA) preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in investment research.
- Proven track record of successful investment analysis and strategy development.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a deep understanding of financial modeling and valuation techniques.
- Excellent communication, and presentation skills.
