Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Crescent Hotels & Resorts. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel's employment policies and practices.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maximize the business plan with effective strategies through direct sales, digital marketing, and revenue management.
  • Direct the solicitation efforts of the sales and catering team while overseeing rate, date, and space commitments for group, banquet, and catering customers.
  • Maximize total and ancillary revenue.
  • Interview, hire, train, and evaluate staff performance; resolve problems and recommend discipline when appropriate.
  • Ensure training programs are conducted regularly and Crescent standards of performance are met.
  • Compile and direct the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the hotel including annual budget and business plan, monthly forecast, and production reports.
  • Coordinate ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends and develop new marketing strategies.
  • Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients and ownership.
  • Prospect, entertain, and meet with customers and clients, some requiring travel.
  • Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing to provide direction to the staff.
  • Initiate preparation of computerized annual budget and business plan and execute plans as outlined.
  • Organize and attend scheduled sales department and related executive team meetings.
  • Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience in the local DC / Northern Virginia Market required.
  • 3-5 years' experience as a Hotel Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Luxury hotel sales experience required.
  • Hotel opening experience preferred.
  • Marriott Brand Experience is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, sales, and closing skills.
