The Fairfield Inn by Marriott in Bolingbrook, IL is currently seeking an experienced, highly motivated, community-oriented Director of Sales to guide the direct sales efforts at our property. What You'll Do
  • Manage all areas of sales according to brand standards to achieve a professional rapport within the local business community.
  • Grow existing accounts and generate new business, utilizing available resources including, but not limited to, Delphi, brand specific tools, TravelClick, ProfitSage, internal BI tools, etc.
  • Responsible for revenue production for the hotel meeting or exceeding planned revenue objectives for RevPAR, occupancy and average daily rate (ADR).
  • Serve as the hotel and market expert communicating all related, relevant information to inform the sales strategy.
  • Develop and implement the hotel's marketing and sales plan based on the hotel's position and strengths within each market segment.
  • Achieve new business booking goals by conducting sales calls to prospective clients, responding to RFP's, and participating in travel agent consortia programs.
  • Analyze and understand the competition's strengths and weaknesses for each market segment and successfully direct marketing activities against each.
  • Conduct market research through client correspondence and internet searches to qualify business potential and determine the level of room night volume.
  • Participate in weekly revenue calls and weekly manager meetings.
  • Actively market the hotel through advertising, blitzes, direct mail campaigns, etc.
  • Engage in the local community to further increase brand/product awareness via approved memberships, charitable activities, and business community/networking events.
  • Establish and maintain positive business and guest relationships.
  • Forecast, prepare, and participate in the creation of the departmental budget that correctly reflects the hotel's business plan.
  • Ensure that hotel employees (especially front desk staff) are familiar with key accounts and their specific needs and arrangements (rates, room types, key contacts, etc.).
Education And Experience
  • Minimum of 2+ years hotel sales/management experience required in a hotel sales leadership role preferably in a Marriott CFRST brand.
  • Knowledge of Delphi a plus.
  • Marriott experience a plus.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment where priorities are constantly changing.
  • Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
