Job Description:

We're looking for an experienced Director of Sales and Marketing to own all sales operations at the hotel. In this position, you'll be responsible for creating and implementing sales and marketing strategies, tactics, and action plans designed to achieve and surpass the hotel's financial objectives, leadership goals, and market share targets.

This individual will reside in the Nashville, TN area. This is an on-site position that will require occasional travel. This is an exempt position that reports to the General Manager. The salary range for this position is $95,000-$125,000.

Waymore's is a boutique lifestyle hotel in East Nashville with 93 guest rooms, versatile indoor and outdoor event spaces, and a newly opened rooftop bar. Waymore's is a hotel that nods to the musicians behind the musicians and embraces the eclectic energy of East Nashville.

What You'll Do

* Lead the sales and events team by example in exceeding our ambitious client acquisition, revenue, and market share goals.

* Cultivate and activate the key sales & marketing strategies, tactics and action plans required to achieve the hotel's financial targets.

* Develop and implement successful Group, Meeting, Event and Business Travel sales solicitation activities to secure new and repeat business from target market segments.

* Collaborate with the Director of Revenue Management, General Manager and Regional Director of Sales to create budgets, forecasts, and business plans.

* Collaborate with the Director of Food & Beverage to create, promote, and sell event packages for the event spaces, and rooftop spaces

* Supervise Sales & Events/Operations team who will coordinate event details, and ensure high standards of menus, presentation, and service.

* Clearly communicate the direction and purpose of initiatives to all hotel stakeholders to eliminate silos and reinforce collaborative goal execution.

* Achieve and maintain superior balanced scorecard results (revenue, STR, GOP, guest experience, colleague engagement, etc.), with an unrelenting desire to exceed previous outcomes.

* Inspire and motivate your leaders and colleagues to foster a guest-focused and results-oriented environment.

* Deliver best-in-class guest service and satisfaction by executing against the Modus Ethos, through avenues such as training, survey analysis, feedback, and incentive programs.

* Create and promote learning opportunities and development plans for direct reports, fostering a culture of development.

* Champion employee engagement and promote a collaborative and inclusive environment where all employees are encouraged to speak up and their input is valued.

* Partner with shared services (marketing, sales, revenue management, and people & culture) to optimize performance and align companywide initiatives.

Who You Are

* Have a minimum of 5 years' experience in sales positions in the hospitality industry, holding a leadership role and held a senior leadership role (Director of Sales or Associate Director of Sales-Preferred) at a hotel for at least two years.

* Demonstrate a track record of production in both Business Travel and Group Sales.

* Have knowledge and experience in Convention Sales Market.

* Have a track record of achieving and maintaining superior sales and revenue results at your hotel(s) and can articulate the underlying strategies that led to your achievements.

* Demonstrate thorough experience with professional selling skills: opening, probing, supporting, closing.

* Able to train and monitor the process of sending referrals, setting traces, and profiling accounts.

* Possess excellent communication and organizational skills.

* Have a thorough knowledge of the hospitality industry, have a strong financial background, sound administrative skills, well developed management skills, and have demonstrated ability to effectively lead.
