The success of this position is reliant on face-to-face interaction and requires 100% on-site work. Ideally the office location will be Tyson's Corner, VA but there is also the option to work from Bethesda, MD in the Corporate Office.

Responsibilities:

The Director of Small Business and Consumer Lending will lead and oversee the strategic direction, product development, and sales distribution for the small business and consumer lending teams. This role requires a visionary leader with a strong background in financial services, product innovation, and sales strategy to drive growth and ensure the delivery of exceptional lending solutions to our customers.

Strategic Leadership:

    • Develop and implement the overall strategy for small business and consumer lending.
    • Align lending strategies with the banks goals and market opportunities.
    • Monitor industry trends and adjust strategies to maintain competitive advantage.

Product Development:

    • Lead the development and enhancement of lending products tailored to small businesses and consumers.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet market needs and regulatory requirements.
    • Drive innovation in product offerings to enhance customer experience and satisfaction.

Sales Distribution:

    • Oversee the sales distribution strategy for lending products.
    • Develop and manage a high-performing small business and SBA sales team to achieve growth targets.
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders.

Team Leadership:

    • Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to the lending teams.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the teams.
    • Ensure effective communication and coordination across departments.

Financial & Management:

    • Manage the budget and financial performance of the lending division.
    • Ensure portfolio is aligned with the banks credit policy.
    • Analyze financial reports and metrics to drive decision-making and performance improvements.
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

Customer Focus:

    • Champion a customer-centric approach in all lending activities.
    • Gather and analyze customer feedback to continuously improve products and services.
    • Ensure exceptional customer service and support throughout the lending process.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Business, or equivalent experience
  • 15 or more years' experience in financial services, with a focus on lending
  • Prove track record in product development and sales distribution
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices

Preferences:

  • Local market experience
  • 5 years of SBA Lending experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of Lending Documentation Software
  • Proficient with credit principals and loan structuring
