Job Description:

Our client is looking for a Strategic Procurement Sourcer. The procurement team partners with the business to address supplier and purchasing needs throughout the entire lifecycle of supplier relationships. The primary goals are to maximize commercial value, select suppliers that meet standards, ensure high-quality services and products, and optimize expense management. As part of the Corporate Strategy and Administration division in our New York City Office, the team provides Sourcing, Purchasing, and Contingent Workforce Management services.

Position Summary: Our client is looking for a senior Strategic Sourcing Director to lead procurement efforts across key spending categories. The focus of this role is to collaborate with leadership to develop and integrate sourcing strategies across the organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing strategies that drive value, foster innovation, and mitigate risk for the business. The role also involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating commercial terms, collaborating with Legal on contracts, and driving continuous improvements within the sourcing framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for key categories, including IT Hardware, IT Software, Professional Services, and other areas as needed.
  • Conduct market research and analyze suppliers to identify and qualify potential vendors.
  • Lead high-level negotiations of contracts and commercial terms with suppliers, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage key supplier relationships, addressing issues, handling escalations, and negotiating broad relationship programs where applicable.
  • Establish a formal program to manage supplier performance and relationships over time.
  • Align sourcing strategies with business objectives and stakeholder needs while monitoring category spend, savings, and performance metrics.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, value creation opportunities, and process improvements.
  • Track and report key procurement metrics and KPIs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to promote innovation, sustainability, and diversity in the supply chain.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, finance, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management, ideally in the financial services sector.
  • Strong expertise in sourcing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Proven ability to negotiate, communicate effectively at the executive level, and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Skilled in analyzing complex data and making sound decisions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and e-procurement platforms.
  • Experience in technology sourcing is a plus.
  • Certification in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management is preferred.
