The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to develop and assess student engagement opportunities for a diverse student demographic.If you are passionate about making a meaningful difference in students' lives, we encourage you to apply and join the Columbia-Greene team!Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesEvent Planning and ManagementResponsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of programs that promote engagement, leadership, and development.Provide leadership to students and faculty by planning, organizing, and executing various co curricular activities, and frequently serves as the business officer for these activities assisting in such areas as budget preparation and arrangements to use various on and off-campus facilities.Assist with the coordination of the annual commencement ceremony.Responsible for major programs such as New Student Orientation, Welcome Week, and end of-semester programming.Responsible for the supervision of student employees and an office coordinator.Leadership Development and MentorshipServe as the administrative representative and advisor to the Student Senate, including maintaining communication with administration, scheduling and supervising meetings, and guiding the development of skills in student government.Serve as a resource to the C-GCC's Student Trustee, student clubs, and organizations.Supervise professional, clerical, and support staff, as well as student work-study aides.Coordinates student leadership opportunities, including campus and peer-mentorship programs.Develop and facilitate leadership development workshops for the student body.Budget and Resource ManagementManage budgets and authorize appropriate expenditures.Approve uses of mandatory student activities fee.Management of the Student Lounge space and its services.Develop and execute holistic wellness offerings and programs and oversight of the Wellness Lounge.Collaboration and Campus EngagementUnderstand the benefits diversity, equity, and inclusion brings to a learning and working environment.Serve students from a broad range of cultural heritages, socioeconomic backgrounds, genders, abilities, and orientations.Provide support and engagement opportunities to a range of demographics, including but not limited to adult learners, non-traditional students, and online learners.Promote mentorship and the opportunity to work in a collegial, collaborative environment, guided by a commitment to help students achieve their educational goals.Formulate and interpret policies and regulations related to the student experience.Serve on College-wide committees as appropriate.Evaluation and AssessmentPossess a deep understanding of the current higher education landscape, evolving workforce demands, technological advances, and the various factors affecting student recruitment and retention.Administer assessment efforts to track student data and trends for student success measures.Formulate policies in consultation with students, faculty, and staff members as they pertain to Student Activities.Approve recognition papers as well as other documents related to student organizations.Assist with preparing the Student Handbook on an annual basis or as needed.Other duties as required to support department and institutional goals and as assigned by the Director, which may include new projects, evolving responsibilities, or special assignments as necessary.RequirementsBachelor's degree with three to five years of experience in student activities and/or student leadership development required. Must possess a valid state-issued ID for driving.Preferred RequirementsGraduate degree with evidenced, relevant experience.Salary and Benefits InformationAnnual 12-month salary range $60-$62K, dependent on qualifications and experience.
