Job Description:

UNE College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) is seeking a mid-level professional with 3-5 years of experience for the role of Director of Student Events and Alumni Engagement. This position is responsible for planning, executing, and assessing student and alumni experiences, with a focus on strengthening connections with alumni through enhanced interactions, virtual events, and networking opportunities. Key duties include organizing signature events like the White Coat Ceremony and Alumni Weekend, overseeing mentoring programs, and coordinating student activities. The role offers a chance to gain deep insights into the college's operations while working closely with various departments and the Associate Dean of Recruitment, Student & Alumni Services.

The anticipated salary for this role is $63,000, with total compensation ranging from $81,532 to $95,324, depending on the selected medical and dental plans.

Responsibilities

Event Management:

* Act as Colleges lead event manager including strategic oversight. Lead and supervise execution of all major College events, including the White Coat Ceremony, Alumni Weekend, and Fourth Year celebrations (Match Day, Senior Week, Graduation).

Alumni Engagement:

* Represent COM at UNE COM Alumni Association meetings and oversee alumni mentoring programs, including speed networking and receptions.

* With clinical education, identify and assign discipline and region-specific alumni for student career mentoring program.

* With recruitment identify and assign regional specific alumni for recruitment mentoring and events.

* Work with clinical education to identify discipline specific recent graduates for residency specific student mentoring.

* Supervise the management of the Alumni life mentor program.

Data Analysis/Communications:

* Develop and assess all external COM communications, ensuring compliance with University Brand Identity Guidelines. (5000+ recipients)

* Oversee and manage the curation, production and distribution of the College's quarterly and monthly communication vehicles. Create and manage alumni-focused content for various media and ensure consistent communication efforts.

* With the COM Data and Learning Analytics Specialist execute alumni-focused surveys to monitor and track alumni throughout their professional careers for accreditation, reporting and engagement purposes.

Student Engagement:

* Collaborate with clinical education to engage discipline specific physician alumni in residency advising.

* Oversee the supervision of student clubs and organizations/ co-curricular activities.

* Supervise the coordination of support services, identification of clinical supervision, and facilities for student club/co-curricular programs and adapt programs based on needs.

* Supervise the training of student club leaders, regarding national affiliate expectations, participation documentation and reporting, risk assessment and appropriate level of supervision.

Additional Duties:

* Supervise and manage a team of two administrative staff members.

* Develop and manage information systems related to alumni practice demographics and engagement; and student participation in events meeting national affiliate requirements.

* Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required, minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant administrative /coordinative experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired.

* Proven ability to effectively interact with prospective and current medical students, pre-med and other college advisors, UNE COM faculty/staff/alumni, and others.

* Strong administrative and organizational skills to manage a high-volume, diverse workload efficiently.

* Ability to work directly with physician specialists and their support staff.

* High level of integrity, confidentiality, and adherence to professional ethical standards.

* Demonstrated experience in public relations and conference/event planning and execution.

* Proficient in word processing, database development and management.

* Ability to regularly work evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred:

* Experience in a medical school or similar setting, with knowledge of medical education.

* Knowledge of HIPAA, FERPA, and other key practices

* Familiarity with iModules, Banner and other University software

* Prior experience in a supervisory role.
