Position Summary:

This is a unique opportunity for an energetic and creative builder to lead and expand student life and alumni affairs in a thriving, multicultural graduate school that makes New York City its campus. As a member of the Dean's leadership team, the Director of Student Life and Alumni Affairs oversees the planning and implementation of a portfolio of cross-school initiatives, policies, and processes that ensure an exceptional and inclusive experience for students and alumni from over 40 countries. The position's home base is our midtown Manhattan campus on Lexington and 32nd Street, with rotating time spent with students and faculty at multiple sites in New York City.

Position Responsibilities:

* Lead and expand the School's student life and alumni engagement strategy and programming

* Collaborate with faculty, department heads, and student organizations to create a comprehensive calendar of programming and events that foster a sense of community, promote personal and professional growth, and address the unique needs and interests of a multicultural student body

* Oversee student clubs and organizations

* Collaborate with academic departments, industry partners, and career services to develop and manage a robust internship program

* Implement a comprehensive strategy to engage alumni in meaningful ways, fostering a strong network of support for current students and the University

* Build relationships with local organizations, businesses, and alumni to create partnerships and opportunities that benefit students and the school, such as guest lectures, industry panels, and co-curricular programs

* Establish policies and procedures to address student concerns, resolve conflicts, and promote a positive and respectful campus culture

* Use multi-channel communications to keep students and alumni informed about upcoming events, resources, and opportunities and to maintain a sense of connection across multiple campuses

* Build and maintain the alumni database

* Oversee student life budget

Experience & Educational Background:

Minimum Requirements:

* Master's degree and 3 years experience in student life in higher education

* Student-first and a values-driven decision-making framework

* Experience in building community in a diverse, multi-cultural environment

* Track record of planning and executing complex projects on time

* Track record of coordinating cross-functional teams including faculty, department heads, and multiple administrative offices within a multi-campus university

* Experience in planning budgets as well as allocating and managing resources

* Experience developing data-driven plans, policies, processes, and systems

* Excellent writing and presentation skills with visuals and multimedia a plus

Skills & Competencies:

* Student-first and a values-driven decision-making framework

* Experience in building community in a diverse, multi-cultural environment

Salary Range:

$85,000 -$98,500
