240 day position/ Paid from leadership certifcate level Job Goal: This position will assist the Executive Director of Student Services in assisting with PBIS, RTI, facilitating tribunals, assisting with various student-centered initiatives (REACH, CHINS), assisting counseling programs, providing monthly professional development for counselors, liaising with the Military, and providing Military Family Support. Additionally, provides leadership to the district in the delivery of programs and services to support the student's academic achievement, career preparation, and social-emotional learning. Additionally, performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities assigned by the Executive Director of Student Services or Superintendent of Schools. QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of L-5 Educational Leadership Certification. Minimum of four years successful school leadership experience Strong leadership qualities, ability to work and communicate successfully with others. Proven organizational and interpersonal skills. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prompt and regular attendance.
- Supports the Executive Director of Student Services for the purpose of implementing various student-centered initiatives (i.e. REACH, SOS, CHINS, etc.)
- Facilitates the development, implementation and evaluation of school site counseling plans based upon district and school data and needs assessment results.
- Coordinates appropriate monthly professional development sessions for school counselors
- Develops a District Counseling Plan
- Conducts regular school counselor site visits
- Coordinates appropriate monthly professional development sessions and workshops for school counselors for the purpose of enhancing school counseling plans.
- Collaborates with school counselors on student transcript reviews and certification
- Prepares reports and/or presentations to provide school counseling program updates to the Executive Director of Student Services at least monthly.
- Assists with Early Graduation Plans
- Updates Program of Studies annually
- Facilitates schools with PBIS, RTI, and SEL
- Works closely with the School Social Workers to analyze attendance data to improve district-wide student attendance
- Oversees the early graduation process for students who may qualify for early graduation
- Ensure the integrity of the Interstate Military Compact is maintained and assist with resolving transfer challenges and conflicts thereby
Facilitating Foreign Exchange Students
- Serve as the key communicator of information related to school affairs, events, and activities to Ft. Stewart and military families.
- Assists with the development Crisis Plan for counselors
- Assists counselors with YouScience and Bridge Bill requirements
- Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
- Facilitates tribunal hearings
- Provides Military Family Support
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities assigned by the Executive Director of Student Services or Superintendent of Schools.
Physical Requirements: Able to perform routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities including: Light Work: Exerting 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds as needed to move objects. Terms of Employment: Salary shall be paid consistent on the System's approved salary schedule. Length of work year and hours of employment shall be established by the system. Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Executive Director for Student Services.
