Position DetailsPosition Information Position Title Director of Students and Academic Advancement Department DCOM STUDENT SERVICES Position Category Staff Full Time Job Description Under the direction of the Assistant/Associate Deans of Students and the Assistant/Associate Dean of Student Affairs, the Director of Students and Academic Advancement will serve as a point of contact for student concerns and academic advancement initiatives responsible for supporting and monitoring student advancement and progress across all four years of education.Required Qualifications masters degree in education or related field; experience in medical education.Preferred Qualifications experience working with adult learners; *experience advising pre-professional or professional studentsPhysical DemandsCampus HarrogateJob Duty Job Duty promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students and to the community at large;Job Duty promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff, students and community members;Job Duty participate on University committees;Job Duty work with the Directors of Academic Support in strengthening efforts toward quality advising and promoting the success of medical students;Job Duty serve as a point of contact for student concerns or complaints;Job Duty Complete Leave of Absence (LOA) process with students prior to students leaving and returning from LOA;Job Duty engage in student life, monitor student progress, and monitor student satisfaction through periodic surveys with the Assessment Department;Job Duty provide an innovative and holistic approach to providing students with the assistance, guidance and resources necessary for academic and professional success;Job Duty provide guidance and refer students to appropriate resources (faculty, advisors, career services) as needed and monitor outcomes;Job Duty maintain records for Student Progress and Appeals Committees and monitor compliance with committee recommendations;Job Duty assist and monitor students who are at-risk and/or who have academic, professionalism, or graduation delay issues;Job Duty maintain a reporting mechanism for student progress and advancement;Job Duty assist in supporting students struggling with COMAT and licensing exam failures;Job Duty direct students to work with the Director of Academic Support and/or Learning Specialists to create a personalized academic plan for at-risk and off cycle students and monitor progress;Job Duty track COMLEX USA Level 1, Level 2 CE and USMLE Level exam schedules and release for registration;Job Duty develop and initiate an outreach protocol for COMLEX failures;Job Duty continuously monitor student progress across all 4 years;Job Duty assist with student success plans during the clinical years and monitor progress;Job Duty conduct professionalism workshops and remediation for students with academic and other success challenges;Job Duty perform other duties as assigned.Posting Detail Information Posting Number S04076P Job Open Date 11/20/2024 Job Close Date 03/31/2025 Open Until Filled No Special Instructions Summary Campus: Harrogate, Knoxville or Orange ParkAbout the Institution Lincoln Memorial University is a values-based learning community dedicated to providing educational experiences in the liberal arts and professional studies.
