Details Client NameLake Chelan Health Hospital Job TypePermanent OfferingNursing ProfessionExecutive SpecialtyDirector of Surgery Job ID29332204 Job TitleDirector of Surgical Services Shift Details ShiftDay - 8x5 - 09AM Scheduled Hours40 Job Order Details Start Date12/01/2024 Job Description Job Title: Director of Surgical Services Job Specialty: Management - Director of Surgical Services Job Duration: Shift: Day - 5x8 - 9am - 5pm, 40 Hours Per Week Guaranteed Hours: Experience: Minimum of 3 years License: Registered Nurse, currently licensed in the State of Washington Certifications: - Current Healthcare Provider CPR- Current ACLS and PALS certifications (or must obtain within 3 months)- CNOR certification (required or must obtain within 12 months) Must-Have: - BSN required or agrees to enroll in an accredited program within one year of hire- Minimum four years of experience in a peri-operative setting, with a minimum of two years of experience in OR as circulating and/or scrub RN Job Description: - Lead and facilitate the provision of excellent, safe, evidence-based, and efficient patient and family-centered care throughout the continuum of care within Surgery and Perioperative Services.- Work effectively and collaboratively with other patient care teams and providers.- Ensure safe patient care in the perioperative arena by articulating, educating, and managing evidence-based patient safety practices consistently.- Manage the business of perioperative services effectively and efficiently by demonstrating proficient clinical skills and knowledge based on evidence and best practices.- Participate in the development of the annual operating budget and capital budget requests, clearly articulating anticipated needs.- Monitor and analyze budget performance and productivity, making appropriate course corrections when variances arise.- Understand and comply with labor laws and human resources philosophies, policies, and procedures.- Demonstrate knowledge of continuous quality improvement within service areas and apply systems thinking across the organization.- Exhibit sound decision-making and problem-solving skills, applying the use of technology effectively.- Demonstrate strategic management skills, including project management, meeting defined timelines, and effective communication and presentation skills.- Lead the caregiver team effectively by demonstrating human resource leadership skills, including recruitment, onboarding, development, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and succession planning.- Manage relationship skills by having effective communication skills, self-awareness, understanding of team dynamics, and conflict management.- Understand and implement processes that support individuals in owning their professional practice.- Demonstrate personal and professional accountability by continuing personal and professional growth, exhibiting ethical behavior, and collaborating effectively with other teams and services for optimal patient care.- Create and maintain a healing environment in the perioperative services arena by maintaining noise levels, keeping work areas uncluttered, and supporting the team to focus attention on the patient.- Demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, compassion, and respect for others, and hold caregivers responsible for the same. Preferred: - Minimum two years of management or supervisory experience.- Experience in building surgical volumes and/or operating room construction projects.
