Under the leadership of and partnership with the Assistant Vice President, Chief Risk & Quality Officer and the Vice President of Medical Affairs, and Infection Prevention Medical Director, the Director of Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) and Employee Health (EH) is accountable for development and implementation of and compliance with policies, practices, and processes of the IPC and EH program, following all current local, state and federal guidelines, standards and regulations. The scope of authority for this position, as Infection Control Officer and Subject Matter Expert, includes Cayuga Health System, which encompasses Cayuga Medical Center, Schuyler Hospital, Seneca View SNF, Visiting Nurse Services, Cayuga Addiction Recovery Services, and Cayuga Medical Associates. The Director is responsible for IPC and EH across the continuum of care. The Director oversees and provides consultative services (as a Subject Matter Expert). They will drive and foster a culture of patient and staff safety, providing service excellence to all.

Roles and Responsibilities:

* Supporting the mission, vision and values of Cayuga Health System (CHS)

* Professional and effective verbal communication and listening skills

* Professional and effective written communication skills as appropriate for the needs of the audience

* Excels in ability to form collaborative relationships with all internal and external contacts and stakeholders, including direct care staff and executive leaders.

* Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills for self and direct reports as needed

* Contributes to a work environment that is inclusive and promotes diversity and equity

* Is responsive to staff, provider, patient, family and leadership needs

* Performs duties in an ethical manner following all medical center and legal requirements

* Demonstrates a strong sense of organizational skills, eliminating waste and increasing efficiencies where opportunity exists

Required Skills and Experience:

* Current NYS R.N. license required. Minimum BSN in Nursing, MS in healthcare related field preferred

* Minimum 6 years of experience in a dedicated IPC position

* Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership/management position

* CIC certification required

* Completes all mandatory in-services within the calendar year

* Annually attends at least 6 relevant continuing education programs to maintain industry expertise in best practices.

* Maintains certification(s) in Infection Prevention and Control

Preferred Skills and Experience:

* Attain Fellow of Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Prevention (FACIP) within 3 years of hire.

* Attain AOHN certification within 3 years of hire

* Maintain active membership in APIC and AOHN

Physical Requirements:

* Ability to stand, sit or ambulate for long periods. Ability to mobilize freely around units, transport self to site locations, and perform required data entry into EMR and alternate data management systems.

Location and Travel Requirements:

* Hybrid

* 20% Travel can be expected in this role to various system sites

Pay Range Disclosure:

* $150,000 to $155,000 per year
