Summary:
Orangewood Christian School seeks a Director of Technology and Innovation to begin by July 1, 2025.
The Director of Technology and Innovation (Director) creates, leads, and supports a shared vision for technology integration and support, and its alignment with the school's mission, values, and goals. As a member of the school's senior leadership team, the Director leads the work that this team is engaged in, including pedagogy, cocurricular programming, Christian discipleship, student experience, service, campus development, and efficiency and systems.
This multi-faceted role offers significant opportunity on a broad scale for a highly relational, servant leader successful in building and leading strong teams, who is knowledgeable about K-12 Christian education, and focused on providing transformative academic and programmatic experiences for students at all levels.
Essential Function:
Leadership
· Develop and implement the school's instructional technology vision in collaboration with the school's senior leadership, administration, operations, and instructional staff.
· Lead and support the development and implementation of the school's short and long range plans for instructional and administrative use of technology.
· Develop and implement a strategic plan furthering a shared vision for technology evolution and integration that is aligned to the school's mission; communicate this vision and implement the plan effectively while garnering support for and from stakeholders.
· Empower leaders through supporting local subject matter experts (administrators, teachers, and staff) in their ability to lead transformational change by modeling innovative integration of technology for productivity, teaching, learning, and school operations.
· Ensure that staff and students have access to the appropriate technology tools for productivity, teaching, learning, and operations; identify ways to provide or support access where needed.
· Develop a cadre of school-level technology leaders to help create, implement, and support the school's plans.
· Investigate evolving trends and emerging instructional technologies; consult with the key school leaders (administration, Directors, and department chairs) to identify and define instructional technology needs each school year, as well as be the school's lead line of support.
· Provide support, guidance, and training on all instructional technology systems, including Google Education tools, Canvas, and integrated third-party applications (Workshops, telephone support, classroom observations, walk-in support, etc.).
· Support Apple products and encourage their use in creative and innovative ways.
· Actively maintain a presence within the national and international technology communities.
Technology Integration:
Instructional Technology
· Curriculum framework: address and support the ways that content standards and digital curricula align with digital age learning and work; provide additional frameworks where needed.
· Student-centered and inclusive learning: promote the use of technology in planning, teaching, and assessments that center on the needs and abilities of Orangewood's students.
· Ongoing professional development: Model and provide staff with ongoing access to technology-related professional development, as well as opportunities to practice skills and share successful practices.
· Assessment and evaluation: continually assess the ways that instructional staff are using digital resources to support and enhance teaching, learning, and leadership.
· Enact practices that provide accountability measures and incentive structures to support the appropriate and timely use of instructional technology for learning.
Technical Support
· Familiarity with the following programs: Facts, ClassLink, Lightspeed Relay, Canvas, SeeSaw, and Finalsite.
· Familiarity with Windows servers and domain management, including Active Directory.
· Mastery of a Mobile Device Management system such as Jamf.
Supplemental Function:
· Attend, and often lead, senior leader meetings and other team meetings, as required.
· Drawing from one's calling, use their personal gifts and talents to further the Kingdom of God.
· Serve as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the school community and beyond, through actions, speech, and attitude.
· Perform other duties, as assigned.
