Position Type: Administration (Operations)/Director/Manager Date Posted: 11/19/2024 Location: Central Office Hampshire County Schools Closing Date: 12/02/2024 County: Hampshire County Schools HAMPSHIRE COUNTY SCHOOLS Job Description POSITION: Central Office Administrator: Director of Technology IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Superintendent FLSA STATUS: Exempt EMPLOYMENT TERM: 252 days annually, pursuant to WV Code §18-4-7a; extended employment days may be established by HCBOE SALARY: Pursuant to WV Code §18A-4-2, commensurate with experience and education level and Administrator supplement plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation EVALUATION: Evaluations are conducted as defined in West Virginia Board of Education Policy 5300 JOB SUMMARY: Provides administrative leadership and supervision in regard to development, implementation, and monitoring of technology in Hampshire County Pursuant to WV Code §18A-1-1: Central Office Administrator means a superintendent, associate superintendent, assistant superintendent and other professional educations who are charged with administering and supervising the whole or some assigned part of the total program of the countywide school system. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with principals and technology staff to support their use of technology in delivery of curricula through a variety of instructional methods; work with schools toward integrating and delivering instruction through use of hardware and software
  • Support and assist teachers in meeting state and national standards for subject area and technology learning objectives
  • Provide learning resources for teachers, staff, and students to integrate technology-based, critical thinking skills into their curriculum
  • Provide/coordinate training for learning and assessment resources and for using WVEIS 2.0
  • Demonstrate knowledge and provide training in current West Virginia learning standards
  • Prepare technology budget for computer resources, including hardware, software, learning resources, and training needs
  • Recommend and purchase hardware, software, and related resources needed for the implementation of the county and school technology plans
  • Identify trends in software, curriculum, teaching strategies, and other educational areas
  • Review, evaluate, and complete technology purchases for WVDE initiatives and through funding sources
  • Review and evaluate all new technology equipment as it is developed and make recommendations to the Superintendent regarding purchases
  • Develop collaborative programs on technology in order to demonstrate uses in academic and vocational settings as well as life skills
  • Assist teachers and staff in securing WVDE email accounts
  • Supervise and direct the Technology Systems Specialist(s)
  • Develop and implement a County Technology Plan, and evaluate on an annual basis
  • Coordinate any technology to be repaired
  • Attend workshops and conferences related to technology and WVEIS 2.0
  • Assure technology inventory is in place at each school
  • Monitor, develop, and maintain the district/school websites
  • Maintain the county phone systems
  • Maintain the county keyless entry systems
  • Maintain camera systems
  • Write all necessary grants/programs in order to implement the county and school technology plans
  • Serve as county liaison with the WVEIS Program and the technology staff at WVDE
  • File all forms for the Federal E-rate Program with the USLC and see that all program requirements are met
  • Assist with the CEFP (Comprehensive Educational Facilities Plan)
  • Manage Hope Scholarship
  • Assist in revising the ESEA, Five Year Strategic Plan, annually
  • Assist in reviewing county policies and making the appropriate revisions
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent
  • Responsible for Staff Development for Secretaries
  • Responsible for technology Staff Development for all employees
  • Office of Civil Rights Liaison
  • Staff Development Coordinator (input data into Hampshire County Schools Staff Development site)
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES FOR COUNTY TESTING:
  • Assist County Test Coordinator
  • Assist with training for the administration of all assessments related to WV Measure of Academic Progress
  • Attend state-wide meetings/trainings for test coordinators
  • Ensure that all equipment used for testing online is working order for testing
  • Maintain inventory of student sign-on and passwords for online testing
QUALIFICATIONS: Administrative degree preferred; Hold valid teaching certificate pursuant to WV Code §18A-3-2; Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10, as appropriate; Meet the qualifications outlined in WV Code §18A-3-2a and §18A-2-9; Have at least three (3) years of teaching experience and three (3) years of experience in the area of technology in an educational organization; Eligible for Technology Integration Specialist certification; Hold masters degree in technology or a related field To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
