Job Description:
We invite you to join the high-energy team at Chatham Bars Inn, a Forbes Travel Guide Five Star Hotel on Cape Cod, Massachusetts with 25 oceanfront acres, 217 rooms and suites, five restaurants, boating, a private beach, full-service spa, 8-acre farm and endless recreation activities. Open year round, the Inn is a five-minute stroll from Chatham's charming Main Street and within a short drive of all Cape Cod has to offer. We are looking for a Director of Tennis for the upcoming 2025 season. The Director of Tennis is responsible for but not limited to overseeing the tennis operation to ensure it is run efficiently & effectively. Conduct lessons, clinics, round robins, and any other special events.
  • Develop tennis program & train Staff Pros in the teaching method
  • Court Maintenance
  • Assist in marketing tennis programs
  • Provide tennis instruction, individual and for groups
  • Schedule reservations for tennis court times, lessons & clinics with assistance from staff
  • Set up matches and custom clinics on request
  • Pro Shop Merchandise Sales
  • Maintain inventory of all supplies, office & retail
  • Complete and accurate record keeping of daily charges/audit, delivery to Front Desk. Revenue to be tracked, daily, weekly and monthly.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended
  • Anticipated guests needs and maintain positive guest relations at all times
  • Monitor & maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
  • Assist in other areas as needed and requested by the Director of Recreation including bike rentals
REQUIREMENTS:Essential:
  • 5+ years' experience managing a tennis program
  • Current certification in CPR & First Aid
  • USPTA Certification or equal certification
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing - fluency in English
  • Ability to formulate policies, procedures, rules and regulations
  • Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
  • Prioritize and organize
  • Follow directions thoroughly
  • Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
  • Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data
  • Excellent customer service skills; able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with guests and other employees
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Able to spend long periods of time in the sun and on your feet
Desirable:

  • Proficiency in foreign languages
