Job Title: Director of Ticket Operations & SalesDepartment: OperationsFLSA Status: Salary ExemptThe Down East Bird Dawgs is a Frontier League team preparing to begin play for the 2025 season. The team is located in Kinston, NC in the historic Grainger Stadium.The Director of Ticket Operations & Sales is a detail-oriented salesperson who will generate new revenue through sponsorship and ticket packages. The individual will cultivate new partnerships, as well as manage a large list of existing clients and sponsors. The individual will help to ensure that day-to-day business operations run smoothly. This candidate will require a working knowledge of ticket sales, sponsorship sales, and ballpark operations. Provide exemplary customer service and help maximize revenue potential.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrinciple duties and responsibilities of this job classification:Ticket Operations & Sales
  • Handle ticket software and operations.
  • Oversee ticket sales through outbound, inbound, and renewal sales including tracking and monitoring calls for productivity and effectiveness.
  • Manage Box Office operations and seasonal staff on game days.
  • Track and report daily and weekly sales figures.
  • Manage customer concerns and expectations as they arise.
  • Establish and develop long-term client relationships for ticket sales and sponsorships
  • Make recommendations on strategies for improved awareness and overall group ticket sales.
  • Ensure a high level of service is delivered to established season ticket holders and prospective new clients.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Human Resources
  • Hire, train, supervise, and direct all box office seasonal employees and oversee an intern.
  • Manages staffing levels and schedules for all seasonal staff.
  • Communicate with staff about sales expectations and manage production levels.
Experience and skills requirementsType of prior related experience:
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working in the sports industry.
Special skills/abilities/competencies required:
  • Ability to work as a team player is essential.
  • Good at identifying and solving problems.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
  • Excellent customer service skills, as well as a creative, positive, friendly and helpful attitude.
  • Strong communication and organization skills, as this individual will be expected to present sales material to high-profile clients.
  • Proficiency in basic computer software skills.
  • During the baseball season, this individual must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • The successful candidate will need to acquire a full working knowledge of Down East Bird Dawgs products to successfully sell to the community.
Education and certification requirementsEducation level:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates, Bachelor's or relevant degree coursework in sports management/marketing, business or a related field.
