The Opportunity

The Director of Trade Operations works in our Cleveland, Ohio corporate office and manages both shareholder services and operations. This position is responsible to ensure daily back-office operations run efficiently, processes and procedures are followed (both internally and by external partners), and that client service is exemplary.

Our real estate strategies are derived from our specialized capabilities in acquiring and managing real estate leased to the US General Services Administration (GSA), which houses key federal agencies nationwide. We offer separately managed accounts, mutual funds, sub-advisory services, and bespoke solutions.

Requirements:
  • Define, implement and maintain processes and procedures for servicing private and public funds.
  • Work in close partnership with product and technology teams to enhance and automate key operational processes, and to develop and enhance product, management, and other reporting, targeting both efficiency and scale.
  • Provide oversight of service providers as applicable.
  • Work with legal department to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations (SEC, DOL, FINRA, ERISA, etc.)

Shareholder services

  • Oversee reconcilement, performance, trade settlement, new accounts, account maintenance, proxies, regulatory mailings, and assistance in support of Fixed Income personnel.
  • Monitor completion of client statements and booklets.
  • Monitor production schedules for trade settlement, client statements.
  • Monitor accounts for assignment by custodians to auto-reconcilement system.

Supervision of operations team

  • Oversee the supervision of staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Monitor workflows, identify backlogs, and assist staff in resolution of problems as needed.
  • Determine cross training needs to ensure coverage during absences.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide counseling as needed.

Education, Skills, Personal Characteristics and Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or other business-related field; Master's Degree and/or CPA or other accounting designation is a plus
  • 10+ years of Accounting and Operations experience.
  • Securities Operations experience preferred
  • Understanding of product management processes is a plus
  • Previous supervisory experience necessary
  • Proven ability to multi-task and work both independently and as a team player in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Passion for the application of innovative technology
  • Willingness to learn new topics and work in an evolving business environment
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Organized and detail oriented with big picture capability
