Job Description:

Position Overview: The National Director of Training is responsible for the development, implementation, and success of Project C.U.R.E.'s training programs in support of our volunteers and staff. These women and men provide the services necessary for the success of Project C.U.R. E's seven Distribution Centers and Collection Centers throughout the U.S. The National Director of Training will ensure that training effectively leverages technology and data so Project C.U.R.E. is able to effectively engage and motivate thousands of volunteers who make up the C.U.R.E. Corps.

Responsibilities: The National Director of Volunteer Resources serves all the C.U.R.E. Communities and will:

  • Develop leaders and technical experts from within the C.U.R.E. Corps to lead individuals and groups that participate with Project C.U.R.E.
  • Create and maintain training standards for volunteers including writing curriculum, preparing videos and developing opportunities to refresh the training of the volunteer leaders.
  • Develop updated onboarding and training programs for new staff.
  • Consistency and Best Practices Oversees process standardization across the Distribution Centers including working to increase the sharing of best practices.
  • On-site Encouragement Willing to travel domestically once per month and annual international trips on assessment.
  • Creates a culture of continuous change across the organization. Helps to drive forward improvement projects and provide accountability on projects.
  • Provides Resources for the successful functioning of the warehouses and works as a project manager in conjunction with the staff at headquarters to help fulfill these needs.
  • Measure and Evaluate Key Performance Indicator metrics are collected, analyzed and shared with the other Team members through the timely distribution of meaningful management reports.
  • Ensures Safety for visitors, staff, and volunteers. This includes adherence to established safety practices in the warehouses and necessary maintenance on the trucks and equipment. Conducts regular audits at each site to support adherence to practices.
  • Utilize Technology Works with a team of volunteers and HQ staff members to create technology tools and provides documentation and training to Operations Directors on these new tools.

Qualifications: The National Director of Training must demonstrate alignment with Project C.U.R.E.'s Mission and Core Values and be passionate about addressing the healthcare inequalities of the developing world in a sustainable manner. The ideal candidate for the position:

  • Is qualified: Holds a bachelor's degree. Has at least five years of management experience or extensive experience within the Project C.U.R.E. process.
  • Understands the task: Has a strong history in education and development, in-person, online, and hybrid training programs are required.
  • Is highly accountable: Has a proven record of establishing and achieving goals in a high-performance environment.
  • Develops others: Inspires and leads to set and achieve goals within the context of building a “performance culture.” Is accessible to associates at all levels, interacting consistently, openly and honestly to assure everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
  • Is organized: Has the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment, with a high degree of professionalism and integrity, and is detail-oriented.
  • Is quantitative: Understands the importance and use of setting numerical goals and measures of performance and utilizes those numbers in managing various teams toward success.
  • Is teachable: Has an attitude of openness, is eager to learn new things, and does not get stuck in a repetitive pattern of doing the same things the same way for too long. Can quickly comprehend complex concepts and will accept instruction
  • Is “bottom-line” oriented: Manages for the overall financial health of the organization by securing in-kind donations, negotiating discounts and benefits with vendors and venues, and overcoming budget and resource challenges.
  • Is a good person: Accepts feedback and continually looks for ways to develop themselves, while maintaining the highest ethical standards and values in representing Project C.U.R.E.
  • Works well with others: Possesses excellent relationship, management and interpersonal skills; the ability to work effectively with donors, volunteers, staff and interns; displays mature judgment, superior diplomatic skills.

Compensation & Benefits: This position offers competitive compensation including health insurance, paid vacation, national holidays, and a 403(b) plan. The salary range for a director position at Project C.U.R.E. is dependent on the individual's qualifications, experience and education; $75,000 - $85,000.

Reports To: The National Director of Training reports to VP of Operations.

Location: Position is available in Denver, Phoenix, Houston, Chicago, Kansas City, or Nashville.
