Kinsa is recruiting for a: Director of Warehouse Operations & Quality Control Location: New York City, NY (On-site) Our client is a successful distributor and manufacturer of quality food products. They are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join their team as the Director of Warehouse Operations and Quality Control. This pivotal role combines operational excellence with a steadfast commitment to quality and safety. Reporting to the executive team, you will oversee warehouse operations, logistics, and quality control processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer satisfaction. Compensation/Benefits:

Essential Responsibilities: Warehouse Operations
  • Lead and manage all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring seamless workflows and timely order fulfillment.
  • Strategically plan and oversee logistics, warehouse management, and transportation functions to optimize efficiency.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance productivity and maintain compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the COO and Team Leads to build a robust team structure.
  • Produce regular operational reports and statistics, including daily, weekly, and monthly metrics.
  • Oversee inventory management, including cycle counts, physical inventories, and minimizing inventory discrepancies.
  • Partner with the Logistics Manager to manage fleet operations and ensure DOT compliance.
Quality Control and Food Safety:
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) protocols.
  • Oversee critical control points (CCP) to maintain food safety during production and packaging.
  • Conduct inspections of products, equipment, and machinery to identify and address potential issues.
  • Manage sanitation verification, allergen testing, and compliance with recipe guidelines during processing.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to quality control and regulatory compliance.
  • Educate and enforce food safety standards among employees.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related fields, such as Operations Management, Food Science, or Logistics.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or quality control, preferably in the food industry.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to build, motivate, and manage high-performing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory management best practices.
  • Experience in food safety environments, including GMPs, allergens, and sanitation programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with systems such as Great Plains/Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
