Location: Fort Wayne, IN

Division / Department: Retail Logistics

Reports to: VP of Retail Logistics

Travel: 20%

About this role:

This position is responsible for driving the financial, operational and cultural results at the Do it Best Corp. distribution centers located across the United States. The director(s) will ensure that warehouses are providing staff members with a safe, respectful, productive and rewarding work environment. Providing store operators owners with agile, responsive and accurate order management, order fulfillment and order delivery services. Actively direct and support the distribution center general managers and their respective teams in the execution of operational efficiency and supply chain excellence.

Responsibilities include:

* Deliver Results: Support the analysis, planning and execution of strategic initiatives to expand the throughput and inventory capacity of the eight Do it Best Corp. distribution centers

* Project management: Oversight of key initiatives and related projects at the DC's as defined but not limited to items on the Logistics strategic plan.

* Optimize Systems and Processes: Identify and implement system and process improvements that enable scalability and support evolving business demands.

* Coordinate with Corporate Teams: Collaborate closely with finance, IT, HR, and supply chain to align operational objectives with broader corporate goals.

* Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison between DC GMs and corporate leadership to ensure alignment on operational strategies and initiatives.

* Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Uphold compliance with OSHA, environmental, and transportation regulations within each DC.

* Risk Mitigation: Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard assets, mitigate operational risks, and promote a secure work environment.

* Develop Contingency Plans: Create and maintain contingency plans for emergencies, ensuring that each DC has business continuity protocols in place.

* Leadership Development: Provide coaching and mentorship to the DC GMs, focusing on leadership skill-building and long-term succession planning.

* Engagement and Retention Programs: Champion employee engagement initiatives to build morale, increase retention, and foster a culture of excellence across all DCs.

* Adopt New Technologies: Identify and drive the adoption of relevant technologies (e.g., WMS, TMS, automation tools) to enhance operational efficiency.

* Leverage Analytics: Implement and use advanced analytics tools to monitor trends, optimize processes, and support data-driven decision-making.

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or related business degree

* 10+ years of experience in warehouse management in an environment with 100+ team members

* 5+ years of experience leading, motivating and coaching a network of nation-wide distribution centers

* Demonstrated leadership and experience with ground-up warehouse 'design and build' as well as distribution center expansion projects

* Proven success leading in a servant leadership environment

Skills and Abilities:

* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

* Able to develop presentations on a variety of topics for use with the warehouse management team, and company-wide as necessary

* Must have initiative and creativity to be able to provide new ideas to help grow the team and the company

* Track record of success in management of teams to complete multiple, time sensitive projects

* Experience working with WMS systems and related warehouse technology and software

* Demonstrated ability and success to collaborate and work across all divisions

* The ability to recognize the need for change and ability to execute

* Experience in strategic planning and execution
