Position Overview: The Director of Wellness is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, and management of nursing programs and services within the assisted living facility. This role requires a compassionate leader with a strong background in health and wellness, particularly in a senior living environment. The Director of Wellness will ensure that residents receive the highest quality of care, focusing on their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management:
- Lead and manage the Wellness Department, including nursing staff, fitness instructors, and other wellness professionals.
- Develop and implement nursing programs that promote healthy living and improve the quality of life for residents.
- Ensure that the wellness team provides personalized care and support tailored to the individual needs of each resident.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for the wellness team.
- Resident Care & Services:
- Oversee the development and implementation of individualized care plans for residents, ensuring they receive appropriate services and support.
- Monitor residents' health and wellness, and coordinate with healthcare providers to address any changes in their conditions.
- Organize and oversee wellness activities, including fitness classes, health screenings, and educational programs.
- Promote social engagement and mental stimulation through activities and events designed to enhance residents' overall well-being.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations governing assisted living facilities, particularly those related to resident care and wellness services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation as required by law.
- Prepare for and participate in regulatory surveys and audits.
- Quality Improvement:
- Implement and oversee quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives related to resident wellness and care.
- Regularly review and analyze wellness program outcomes to identify areas for improvement.
- Engage residents and staff in continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with the Executive Director, nursing staff, and other departments to ensure a holistic approach to resident care.
- Foster strong relationships with residents' families, keeping them informed and involved in their loved ones' wellness and care plans.
- Serve as a resource and advocate for residents, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
- Budget & Resource Management:
- Manage the Nursing Department's budget, including staffing, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensure efficient use of resources while maintaining a high standard of care and services.
- Participate in the facility's financial planning and budgeting process.
Qualifications:
- Education & Licensure:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Health Sciences, Gerontology, or a related field required; Master's Degree preferred.
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Minnesota required
