Director Logistics Operations

Job Overview:
Preowned Auto Logistics is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Logistics Operations. This role requires a highly organized leader with extensive experience in leadership as well as strategically managing logistics operations, focused on delivering exceptional service to both carriers and customers while fostering innovation. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, technical, and KPI skills, reports and be able to drive continuous improvement in logistics processes, dispatching, aligning with company goals for growth and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of logistics professionals, cultivating a culture of positivity, accountability, and continuous learning. Ensure team engagement through regular performance reviews and developmental opportunities.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including carriers, sales teams, and internal departments to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Logistics Coordination: Oversee the coordination of logistics activities to ensure the efficient, timely, and safe delivery of vehicles while optimizing resource allocation.
- Sales and Business Alignment: Work closely with the sales team to align logistics strategies with overall business goals, ensuring logistical support for business growth initiatives.
- Contract Negotiation & Management: Negotiate and manage contracts with logistics providers, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining service excellence.
- Data Analysis & Process Improvement: Analyze and interpret data to identify opportunities for improvement in logistics operations, initiating corrective actions where needed.
- Compliance & Industry Standards: Ensure that logistics operations comply with all relevant regulations and industry standards, maintaining a high level of service quality and safety.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of logistics initiatives, identifying best practices for continuous improvement.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Foster teamwork and collaboration across all departments, contributing to talent acquisition efforts and supporting employee development initiatives.
- Scalable Process Design for Growth: Assist in shaping, establishing, and fortifying scalable processes that support future business growth, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Customer Experience & Brand Loyalty: Inspire and motivate the team to consistently exceed KPIs, delivering exceptional customer experiences that build brand loyalty and drive repeat business.
Qualifications:
- Customer Service Mindset: Proven dedication to delivering exceptional customer service, with experience in sales or the hospitality industry considered a plus.
- Leadership Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a leadership role, with a track record of successfully managing logistics operations and driving organizational success.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of logistics processes, regulations, and industry best practices, with the ability to adapt to changing market conditions.
- Communication & Negotiation Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Technology Savvy: Comfortable with technology solutions, including transportation management systems (TMS) and payment systems, to optimize logistics operations.
- Adaptability & Prioritization: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment, managing competing priorities effectively to meet organizational goals.
