Ensures alignment with business objectives and is instrumental in shaping the skills of the workforce through training initiatives and leadership development. Leads and manages a team of learning specialists and trainers.What you will do...
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute a strategic vision for learning and development and identify and address organizational learning needs that align with the Credit Union's mission, vision and business objectives.
- Partner with the VP of People and Culture to execute the succession planning process for the organization.
- Collaborate with the People and Culture (HR) team to ensure the talent development needs of the organization are achieved.
- Develop and oversee the training budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources and tracking return on investment.
- Drive a culture of learning within the organization, promoting employee engagement and self-directed learning opportunities.
- Design, develop and deliver engaging and effective learning programs for all levels of the organization, including technical training, sales and service training, and soft skills enhancement. Ensure all learning programs are inclusive and accessible to a diverse workforce.
- Leads the creation and support of comprehensive leadership development programs for leaders at all levels and high potential audiences, inclusive of coaching, 360 feedback, competency design, etc.
- Lead the development and implementation of sales training programs to improve product knowledge, sales techniques and member engagement.
- Design a learning journey to drive outstanding performance of front-line teams and leaders, including innovation of curriculums, training delivery and reinforcement.
- Assess orientation and onboarding processes and programs to identify improvement areas and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement metrics and evaluation processes to assess the impact and effectiveness of learning and development programs.
- Analyze data and feedback to continuously improve learning strategies and outcomes.
- Report on learning and development progress to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
- Conduct field training needs assessments of new hire training, skills training and job-specific knowledge, leadership development to identify training or delivery opportunities.
- Evaluate existing training programs, tools, and platforms to recommend enhancements or solutions to ensure effectiveness and relevance with industry best practices.
- Establish partnerships with external training providers and industry experts to leverage their resources and stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices.
- Set priorities, allocate assignments, define goals, and lead the learning and development team by providing coaching and guidance.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment that encourages professional growth and development.
- Observe training specialists and provide appropriate coaching, training, and development to enhance their skills and maximize their impact on organizational training.
- Develop comprehensive project plans for creation and implementation of learning and development programs, inclusive of timelines, resources, etc.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, inclusive of learning designers, delivery specialists and subject matter experts, to ensure effective and efficient program execution.
- Uses extensive program and project management skills to manage multiple cohorts of leadership programs to set practical timelines, manage communication plans and ensure the program meets its objectives.
- Serve as the liaison between the Credit Union and all learning and development vendors.
- Negotiate contracts to ensure costs are in alignment with the marketplace.
What you need...
- 7-10 years progressive experience in Learning & Development role. Experience in the financial industry preferred.
- Expertise in Adobe Connect or similar training delivery tools
- Effectively prioritize tasks, set realistic goals, and minimize distractions to produce reliable and efficient results
- Expertise in Captivate, Articulate, or similar training development tools
- Listens attentively, checks for understanding, and applies the information in future situations, Drafts clear and concise written communication in a logical fashion.
- Outstanding relationship building and ability to influence at all levels to advise internal business leaders to uncover insights and build consensus
- Expertise in Learning Management Systems (Schoox preferred)
- Ability to make decisions in the best interest of the organization based on research, collaboration and previous experience. Ability to build relationships, resolve conflict, foster respect while working with others to achieve goals
- Ability to create and deliver compelling presentations to effectively communicate information and ideas
- Effective planning, budgeting, and monitoring of projects and department resources
- Outstanding facilitation skills, engaging small and large audiences at all levels within the organization
- 4 years of leadership experience within a learning and development team
