Summary
* The primary role of this position is to meet the surgical and procedural care as well as operational needs of the OR, GI, PACU, Same Day Care, Pre-Admission Testing, and Sterile Processing areas. This position in collaboration with his or her Service Line Dyads-assures that clinical, medical, administrative and support staff have the tools and resources to ensure quality, safety, and a high level of service to patients on the unit. The Director and Service Line Dyads interact with leadership and caregivers across the organization to accomplish department goals and assures that department objectives align with Heartland's Mission/Vision/Values and Strategic Priorities.

Duties
* The Director works in collaboration with his or her leadership team, Vice President, and Physician Leader to articulate a vision for the future direction of the service line, and assures that every decision made advances the service line toward that vision.
* A primary role for the Director is to build highly effective partnerships with his or her Leadership team, Physicians, and with key stakeholders of the service line.
* The Director accomplishes his or her goals through effective selection, development and coaching of the leadership and caregiver teams.
* The Director leads, administers and improves all aspects related to performance outcomes for the service line-assuring achievement of top decile performance in quality, safety and stakeholder satisfaction and lower quartile performance in cost.
* The Director-in partnership with his or her leadership team and Service line physician leader-is a key advocate to assure services by clinical, ancillary and physician providers are carried out with the highest attention to quality and safety.
* The Director works in collaboration with his or her leadership team, Vice President, Physician Leader, decision support/finance personnel to contribute to and monitor the department operational budgets.
* The Director continually gathers information from a variety of sources: patients, family members, caregivers, leaders, medical staff and others to identify critical issues and problems and to develop breakthrough solutions.
* The Director participates and/or leads a variety of multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams and committees to represent the service line and to contribute to broader organizational outcomes.
Qualifications
* All required education is a minimum requirement. Higher levels of education are acceptable. Bachelor's degree with a clinical or business discipline and a graduate of an accredited RN Nursing Program required.
* RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure And/Or Compact State Licensure in the State of Missouri required.
* Satisfactory knowledge and depth of clinical and leadership experience in a complex healthcare setting required.
