Exceed Expectations.The Director, Philanthropy and Community Engagement will be responsible for leading, developing and implementing comprehensive philanthropy and community engagement strategies to support the organization's mission, revenue objectives and sustainability. This position requires strong leadership, fundraising expertise, and a passion for engaging donors and stakeholders in advancing our mission.Essential Functions: Fundraising
  • Directs strategic campaigns and capital development initiatives to ensure annual fundraising targets are met locally.
  • Leads all fundraising efforts in the region, with a focus on creating a pipeline of new donors.
  • Develops institutional and individual strategies for current donors and prospects and create a comprehensive stewardship program for their region and portfolio in partnership with the broader Philanthropy team.
  • Works closely with organizational leadership to strategically identify funding opportunities.
Events and Cultivation
  • Manages and helps to design strategies for various donor cultivation and local stewardship events
  • Plays a critical role in ensuring the success of Vivent special events through ensuring participation and fundraising at the event
  • Acts as liaison and supporter to key philanthropic community organizations, small businesses associated with third party fundraising activities and employee resource groups.
  • Involves and manages Senior Leadership as necessary in face-to-face cultivation, solicitation, renewal, and stewardship actions for regional top major donors and partners.
Community Engagement
  • Create and cultivate partnerships and relationships across diverse communities of supporters to enhance Vivent Health's visibility and impact locally.
  • Participate in local advisory councils and other representative bodies to ensure Vivent Health is responsive to needs of people impacted by HIV
  • Facilitate regular community meetings to foster relationship building, collaboration with diverse stakeholders in the local community. This includes strengthening relationships with partners, identifying and addressing improvements to working together to authentically support people impacted by HIV/AIDS.
  • Lead and coordinate local community engagement to support events and programs that are priorities to achieving the Vivent Health vision and mission.

Qualifications:Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Philanthropy or related field.
Work Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with progressive leadership responsibilities in philanthropy and donor engagement.
  • Demonstrated success in major gift fundraising, grant writing, and donor stewardship.
Soft Skills:
  • Strong leadership and management skills to lead a team of fundraising professionals and inspire philanthropic efforts.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills to cultivate and steward donor relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey the organization's mission, vision, and impact to donors and stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies to achieve goals.
  • Collaborative approach to working with internal and external stakeholders to advance philanthropy initiatives.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify challenges and develop solutions to overcome them.

Salary:Starting at $90,000/annually (Depending on Experience)Public Student Loan ForgivenessEmployment at our organization may qualify you for federal student loan forgiveness programs. We do not directly pay for - nor forgive - federal student loans; however, our status as a not-for-profit organization under Section 501 c 3, makes us an eligible employer.
