Job Description:

The Role

As Director, Network Product Management, you will be working in a team responsible for managing products and vendors through the entire product lifecycle from strategic planning in support of the Datacenter and Core Network Services Team. This includes working closely with the product engineering teams, vendor contracts, vendor performance, building and presenting investment business cases (purchases/renewals), and collaborating with numerous business unit partners (procurement, finance, Risk, etc.). You will serve as a focal point for the products you help manage, leading collaboration sessions with the teams to identify opportunities, assisting with overall strategy and conveying that strategy when presenting investment opportunities to leadership, participating in the governance processes to complete those investments, and managing business/vendor relationships to ensure we are receiving full value from those investments.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 10+ years of technical product &/or vendor management experience
  • Related Vendor Experience:
    • IP Networks – LAN, WAN, MPLS, SDWAN
      • DDI: DNS, DHCP, IP Address Management
    • Telecom Circuits
    • Network Security – Firewalls, Segmentation, Intrusion Prevention & Detection
    • Traffic Management – Network / Application / Global Server Load Balancing
    • Network Proxy – Web, Socks, Plug, API/XML Gateways
    • Network Tools – Packet Analyzers, Packet Brokers, Monitoring & Performance Management Tools
  • Ability to translate technology terminology to business relatable terms
  • Expertise in leading vendors and contracts through the acquisition and renewal process
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiating, and influencing skills with an ability to engage senior management and across all levels of the organization
  • Data-focused approach, with the ability to interpret strategic objectives into actionable tasks
  • Ability to define product features and break them into clear and concise stories with well-defined business value and acceptance criteria
  • Solid focus on execution and ability to identify, communicate, and remove impediments
  • Capable of leading, influencing, and motivating colleagues
  • Continuously improve, encourage, and collaborate with team members, demonstrating servant leadership behaviors
  • Agile experience; Jira and Jira Align, preferred
  • Financial experience, a plus
