Job Summary
Vertiv is seeking a Director, Product Management (Single-Phase UPS) to support our growing 1P UPS Business. This is a highly visible and critical role that is responsible for driving global growth and profitability by gathering and analyzing voice of the customer, developing a compelling product roadmap, and launching new offerings into the market. This position requires strong collaboration across the broader IT Systems product lines, Vertiv Sales, and Operations teams and will work in close partnership with regional product management teams to bring new products to market on-time and on-budget to drive growth.
The position will be based in Delaware, OH, Pune India, or another Vertiv location.
Responsibilities:
* Leads and mentors a team of global Product Managers to meet current and future business needs.
* Monitors the market to identify and proactively respond to new opportunities based on market research, trends, customer feedback, market demands and competitive activity.
* Manages the development of the 3-year strategic growth plan and offering roadmap to build, maintain and launch prioritized products in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
* Attends tradeshows, visits customers, and meets with partners and sales teams to ensure an accurate voice of customer is heard in all product plans.
* Performs offering cost and gross margin analysis to establish pricing strategies/policies to remain competitive in the market while maximizing overall profitability.
* Ensures all internal and customer facing product documentation and sales tools are available and accurate.
* Maintains a solutions mindset that focuses on solving real customer problems with hardware, software, and services.
* Works closely with engineering on validation and qualification of products to new applications and markets; support transition of manufacturing to additional sites for expansion or cost reduction.
* Supports large sales opportunities, product customization requests, and sustaining activities as they arise. Champions the speedy resolution of customer issues.
* Manages product offering life cycles from new product introduction through end of life.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
* At least 10 years of technical product leadership experience with increasing managerial responsibilities.
* Exceptional communication skills and ability to build diverse relationships internally and externally.
* Strong business acumen and P&L responsibility experience.
* Analytical skills to understand the impact of market and competitive changes as they affect a product portfolio and determine a successful course of action.
* Proficiency with financial modeling and analysis of product programs.
* Travel: up to 25%
