Job Description

The Director of Accounting is responsible for aspects of Prime's financial accounting operations including one or more of the following: general ledger, monthly close, accounts payable, fixed assets, revenue recognition, accounts receivable, financial reporting and all related accounting and control activities to support these areas. This position is also responsible for the creation and analysis of the company's monthly financial statements, maintenance of accounting systems and assists in the preparation of various financial presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all technical and accounting policy needs of the organization, directing the delivery of activities related to process and system improvement, system implementation, and automation projects related to the accounting function on budget and on time.
  • Oversee the General Accounting and Financial Reporting functions related to one or more of the following: general ledger, fixed assets, rebate accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Implement and maintain a system of internal controls and prepare financial reporting in compliance with all financial policies and US GAAP.
  • Ensure that risk is balanced with business objectives and targets are met.
  • Lead the successful completion of both internal and external audits in the periodic review of the company financial records; responsible for the implementation of agreed upon recommendations.
  • Provide comprehensive, accurate, timely, and relevant financial analysis and reporting to Prime management.
  • Lead, coach, and manage team members to deliver on department goals, coordinate workload, ensure quality, establish procedures, meet client/customer expectations, and manage the costs of the services being provided.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience; HS diploma or GED is required.
  • 8 years of work experience in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5 years of management/people leadership experience.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship.
  • Additional Qualifications

  • Very strong analytical skills.
  • Strong team player with a customer service approach and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or CMA is strongly desired.
  • Evidenced experience leading large teams.
  • 4 years of public accounting experience and experience leading an accounting department.
  • Previous supervisory/management experience, ideally in a high growth environment.
  • Experience working with all levels of management and consulting with key business stakeholders, with an ability to influence for greater outcomes.
  • Proven ability and desire to build and lead an effective, high performing team.
  • Minimum Physical Job Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Constantly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Reporting Structure

    • Reports to Sr Director or Vice President in the Finance department.

    Potential pay for this position ranges from $125,200.00 - $200,000.00 based on experience and skills. Pay range may vary by 8% depending on applicant location.
