Labcorp is implementing an exciting new big data approach to cancer testing. We are integrating the test results from our national oncology testing business into an enterprise data warehouse to enable a variety of data mining applications. We have an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated data scientist leader within our new Real World Data (RWD) Informatics group. You will be part of a collaborative, cross-functional team bringing together software engineers, clinicians, data scientists, and informaticists to extract clinical insights from oncology real world data. Oncology testing data is complex and heterogeneous; we need people who can bring both biomedical understanding and data management skills to the task of making this data usable.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Act as an expert resource for the RWD Informatics team and the broader company for RWD insight generation, analytical techniques, data limitations and requirements to enhance and interrogate Labcorp's RWD assetsSupervise and perform the analysis of complex, multi-modal RWD assets to drive internal insight generation and collaborative researchEnsure the delivery of data payloads in fulfillment of contracted RWD commercial activitiesOversee the development, testing, and deployment of dashboards and analytics user interfaces supporting a variety of use cases and internal and external usersRepresent analytical stakeholders as we identify, prioritize, and integrate additional RWD assetsOwn the implementation of end-to-end data quality metrics to ensure that data pipelines are operational and data is being processed as expectedFunction as a mentor for junior team members, driving team upleveling and adoption of best practices in data science and adoption of the latest methodologiesContribute strategic input into the data asset roadmap, helping to align the needs of the analytics team with the broader data asset developmentWork collaboratively with broader IT organization to ensure that infrastructure and tooling meets the needs of the RWD analytics teamPush recognition of Labcorp as an industry leader of both creation and utilization of RWD via publication and/or conference presentationsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Demonstrated competency in all the following areas is desired, but not required. The ability to think logically, be self-directed, learn technical and subject matter related materials quickly, and communicate effectively are all highly desired.Substantial understanding of oncology and cancer biologyTrack record working with messy RWD sourcesPrior experience working with molecular diagnostics data, including NGS and histopathology reportsExpert level proficiency in Python, SQL, and database navigation/managementSignificant, hands-on working experience with relational or graph databases, Databricks or Jupyter notebooks, and/or HANAPrevious experience designing, sourcing data, and publishing dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, Plotly, Jupyter, etcExposure to LIMS and/or EMR data representing the oncology patient journeyExtensive use of cloud-based (AWS, Azure, GCloud, etc) and on prem computing infrastructuresAwareness of the use of Large Language Models (LLMs) and their application to data processing and analytics workflowsFamiliarity with HIPAA, GDPR, and other data privacy regulations and of regulatory considerations when developing software or delivering data in regulated spacesExperience interacting with HEOR/RWE/Med Affairs stakeholders at pharma/life sciences companiesIntimate knowledge of the use of JIRA, Confluence, gantt charts, and version control (git) and best practices thereinExcellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex topics to non-experts and pitching pragmatic solutions to diverse audiencesAbility to interact and work well with members of other functional groups in project teams and a strong sense of project ownershipRequirements:Requires an advanced degree (MS/MD/MPH/PhD) in a STEM field with 5+ years of relevant experienceDemonstrated competence in data visualization, statistics, software engineering, product development, data modeling/querying, and/or data integration/harmonizationMust be able to provide evidence of relevant expertise in the form of presentations, software, technical publications, and/or knowledge of applicationsApplication window open until: 9/30/2024Pay Range: $160-180kBenefits: All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
