Position Summary:

As the Divisional Sales Director, reporting directly to the Corporate VP of Sales and Marketing, you will spearhead our revenue generation initiatives through a consultative sales approach. We seek a dynamic, results-driven sales leader with a relentless drive for success. In this role, you will oversee sales activities within the MFEI division, managing a defined territory that encompasses most of Colorado, along with parts of Kansas, Wyoming, and Nebraska. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to prospect and close new business, ensuring that sales revenue targets are met or exceeded. This role involves managing 1-2 direct reports and requires a proactive approach to building and nurturing client relationships. Your leadership and sales expertise will be crucial in driving growth and achieving our strategic objectives.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and implement effective marketing plans to manage prospects, ensuring all key information is accurately maintained in the sales tracking CRM.
  • Achieve or surpass sales and key performance indicator (KPI) targets.
  • Design customer solutions that adhere to relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Engage with customers to understand their needs, crafting tailored offerings and proposals to meet those needs.
  • Clearly communicate pricing and service strategies to both external clients and internal teams.
  • Create and deliver compelling presentations to potential clients and industry associations.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, setting clear goals, conducting performance reviews, and identifying professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with the local Operations team to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies and alignment of service delivery with client expectations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This role involves managing 1-2 direct reports.

Qualifications:

CERTIFICATIONS: Selling Skills Certifications are a plus.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's Degree (e.g., MBA) is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of direct sales experience with municipal clients.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing a substantial customer base, exceeding 100 clients, and handling high volumes of orders.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system effectively.
  • Proven experience as a Sales Director in environmental services or water treatment/wastewater treatment plants (WTP/WWTP).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage long sales cycles, including experience with Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and bidnet systems.
  • Additional certifications or coursework in sales management, business development, or industry-specific knowledge (such as environmental services or water treatment) can also be beneficial.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within the defined sales territory, including driving long distances and occasionally flying for client meetings, conferences, and industry events.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to visit client sites, with travel up to 50%, including operational facilities and municipal locations, which may involve walking, standing, or navigating various work environments.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting while working at a desk or computer, including tasks such as preparing presentations, managing CRM data, and conducting virtual meetings.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for presentations, client interactions, and team collaboration, requiring clear and professional speech.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials such as presentation equipment or promotional materials, typically up to 25 pounds.
