Job Description:

The Director, Sales Training, maximizes sales performance and effectiveness of Corporate Performance & Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) sales teams by creating, implementing and managing the overall learning & development curriculums for core sales functions and roles. The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced Sales Learning & Development professional who has strategic vision and exceptional execution skills to enhance the effectiveness of the organization and will develop and drive a global enablement strategy that is highly scalable and aimed at increasing competency and proficiency.

This role will be located remotely, anywhere in the United States, and will report to the VP, Sales Operations - CP & ESG.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Set and execute strategic plans which maximize critical organizational capabilities and develop corresponding sales development and effectiveness plans.
  • Proactively assess programs and resources for sales learning and enablement to ensure they yield productivity benefits consistent with established objectives.
  • Provide expert guidance and insight to sales development and effectiveness team and functional leaders on training development and implementation (adult learning, experiential learning, and instructional design). Assure these best practices are consistently adhered to in all curriculum.
  • Identify, prioritize, develop, and implement learning & development programs to meet ongoing needs and priorities including promotions, product launches, kick off and leadership meetings, and marketing programs for sales and emerging technologies and product roadmap for development.
  • Partner with senior functional leadership, marketing, human resources and other stakeholders to ensure that the overall sales development and effectiveness strategy is aligned to key strategic initiatives through needs assessments and identification of future development opportunities.
  • Create a common training platform across the organization that incorporates learning and development best practices, foster a learning culture, integrate a customer focus, and create a strategy that can be monitored and measured through metrics.
  • Collect and analyze data from training feedback. Conduct gap analysis to determine appropriate methods and areas for improvements.
  • Research, report and recommend industry best practices.
  • Meet financial objectives by forecasting headcount, system and resource requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. Effectively manage budget and vendors.
  • Manage team performance by setting clear goals/objectives and providing constructive feedback; monitoring key performance indicators; guide team and internal resources in development and manage all training development and delivery.
  • Job Qualifications

    Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. MBA or Master's degree preferred.

    Experience: 9 years' combined experience in learning & development, sales enablement and operations functions at a commercial software organization. Specific experience in:

    • Experience in Learning: curricula, content and delivery strategy required.
    • Experience implementing and launching a Learning Management System.
    • Successful track record of working with cross-functional teams across the organization.
    • Experience managing a Salesforce.com system, and possessing a strong understanding of the sales process (including territory planning, developing sales pipeline, etc.).
    • A successful track record of working with managers and executives at high levels in the organization, as well as staff.
    • Experience in applying adult education principles to learning delivery and strategy.
    • Meeting management and group process facilitation skills are required.
    • Strong partnering and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to manage projects with multiple tracks as a high-energy leader.
    • Ability to develop clear action plans and drive processes with numerous interdependencies.
    • Ability to work effectively in situations involving shifting priorities and rapid change, demonstrating ability to cope.
    • Experience managing or working on a remote team.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong presentation skills.
    • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical capabilities, and collaboration skills.
    • Must have attention to detail, a commitment to quality and be results driven and customer focused.
    • Must be able to define strategy and oversee day-to-day tactical execution.
    • Experience leading change.
    Travel Requirements

    Minimum of 30% overnight travel required.

    Compensation:

    Target salary range CA, CT, CO, HI, NY, WA: $182,500-$258,350
